Hello,

I just bought the $30 for 6gb data plan today from rogers. I am currently using a N95-1 (not the same one that is offered by rogers currently; however, the first n95 to be released). I have set the Network mode to Dual (it offers me 1. Dual, 2. UMTS and 3. GSM)

I know that the $30 data plan is a 3g plan. How come my N95 doesn't show the 3G icon below the signal strength meter and just shows the E icon (standard GPRS icon). I am not getting the 3G speeds and webpages are loading SLOWLY!!!

any suggestions guys?

Keep in mind that I am not really too knowledgeable on GPRS and 3G as this is the first time in my life ever using non wi-fi internet on a cell phone.

Thanks fellas

Your phone doesn't have it, who cares what the band is? You are not going to be able to use 3G with rogers unless you get a new phone.

it uses 850 and 1900 whereas europe uses 2100. Why North America always needs to be special is beyond me.

You could have just searched this up.. but North America uses the 850 and 1900 bands for 3G.

They don't use the 2100 band because its used for military purposes, I think.

You need the N95-3 or N95-4 to do what you want to do.
