Are you with Rogers?
I have had problems with various sites since just after 4PM. Seems like a DNS problem at Rogers - at least for me.

yea it has been up and down and parts of it broken over the later part of the afternoon. it might have resolved itself recently, try closing and reopening your browser and even rebooting your machine to flush your dns.

There is DNS exploit floating around that are making ISPs scurry to fix it. Maybe that's what Rogers is busy doing.
For now you can use OpenDNS (www.opendns.org) which is not vulnerable the exploit. Just set two IPs as your nameservers, reset your network connection, and you should be good to go.

I've been having all kinds of problems on my Rogers connection this evening. Many sites including RFD randomly do not load. And then shortly after that they do load.

Christ, can't you people live without the Internet working properly for awhile? What happens when you lose your Internet, do you go nuts knocking on neighbour's doors asking if his Internet is down? It's not the end of the world.
It's summer for God's sakes, go outside, enjoy the sun, meet a girl...:|

When Google is down, just use some other search provider. They still will work.

+1. It is a beautiful day outside. Yes, go enjoy the sun, meet a girl and make love to her in a park.
