http://www.cp24.com/

I know this isn't a very important topic......but who actually approves of these things? Is it just me or do a lot of the graphics including the people + the weather icons look all blurry?

........

Makes the quality of the site look like crap. Maybe I'm lookiing at it too technically, but I'm sure its not just me that would say that it looks pretty bad.

The blurry weather icons stand out so bad. It's like they ripped the weather icons straight off the TV, and coudln't find higher quality pics of the icons other than the .gif's they use on their cable TV channel.....sad times.

wow thats quite possibly one of the worst professional websites I've seen.. it almost froze my computer with all the random scripts running too

and really? I may be out of the loop by isn't Citynews and CP24 basically the same thing? howd one go to rogers and another to ctv?

ya the old site is still around, i really don't see the point in having two seperate sites with basically the same news, articles etc.

Wow it's so cluttered and full of ads everywhere.

The bottom banner of all those logos is very distracting and unnecessary.

it is weird, at one time they were all on the same team...imagine that.

Because of the rules CTV could not own two channels in the same city.

Funny thing is CP24 still shows citytv news. I think they even rent same citytv studio. Rogers and CTV doing monkey business.

Same with the stock ticker.....I'm pretty sure people don't come to city pulse for stock info....

edit: I just sent an email to city pulse with a link to this thread, so maybe they will take some of note of some of our comments.

I LOL'd. On the front page, there's an advertisement for CTV when I visit it.

HAHAHAHAH....it's like going to the Coke website and getting a Pepsi ad!

Horrible layout, everything is so disorganized. In that flash video with the pic of 4 ppl, the dude on the right of Ann, does that guy still work here?

I haven't seen that dude on the show in like 4 months.

He was with CTV Newsnet morning show simulticast from Toronto & Vancouver.
May be CTV Newsnet was not impressed and pushed him at CTV/Pulse24.

it's pretty bad but i didn't find the older one that much better...navigation used to be a pain in the ass, and their search function doesn't even work most of the time

cp = cable pulse doesn't it?
Definitely under the CTV umbrella though

If you google cable pulse, citynews is the first thing that comes up so that's no good for them.

they HAD to change the web site arround, because the parent owners bought the channel. but they did a horrible job in re-designing it

definitely looks sloppy, it looks like they tried so hard to force it to follow the layout of the broadcast version that it ends up looking poorly slapped together.

I dislike the way they do the news, not as tight as it was before, too much to scroll through too.

Also, I couldn't give a rat's @$$ about entertainment, so why devote so much space to it right underneath the top stories?

Previous version much better, it was categorized better with each major topic in it's own box, small ones too, not these ginormous space-eaters.

Oh, at the weather icons are friggin annoying... blurry!

I was aware of some of the ownership changes, and rules etc, but I had no idea that they were owned by different companies with different websites.

The website is horribly laid out and gives me a headache.

I will stick with the old website. Just curious, is there a big difference between the talent/anchors showcased? (or just mainly isolated to those call in shows on CP24)
