For the unfamiliar, Dell Days of Deals (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=137979.631615211&type=10&subid=) are promotions where 3 new deals and 2 to 4 sidebar deals appear each day. The deals last for one day only and the really hot deals will sell out. New items appear each morning around 6AM eastern time. Day 3 Offers are live!
Don't forget, Dell Days of Deals items now appear on the RedFlagDeals.com Deals of the Day Page (http://www.redflagdeals.com/dailydeals/) as well.
Day 3 Deals
Dell SE198WFP 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - $129.99 Sold out
Westinghouse Digital 42" 1080P LCD HDTV - $799.00 Sold out
Nintendo DS Crimson Bundle with Professor Layton - $119.99 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=137979.631615211&type=10&subid=)
Sidebar Deals
TRENDnet Wireless Internet Camera Server - $79.99 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=137979.631615211&type=10&subid=)
Targus Mode Messenger Bag - Fits Laptops with Screen Sizes Up to 15.4-inch - Black/Blue - Designed for Dell - $29.99 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=137979.631615211&type=10&subid=)
PS3 Playstation 3 80GB Gaming Console Bundle with DualShock3 Controller, Blu Ray Remote and HDMI Cable - $424.99 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=137979.631615211&type=10&subid=)
Looks like another day of good deals! The 19" LCD looks great at $129.99, and a 42" 1080p LCD with tuner for $799 with free shipping is hot and tempting as well! The Nintendo DS bundle is hard to fault too, as the cheapest we've seen the Professor Layton game is about $25 (normally $30-$35). That means you're getting the DS itself for about $95.
Shipping is free for all items.

$129 for a dell lcd sounds decent...
not maybe 19" lcd's get this low..
PS3 could be hotter
The TV is nice but I wouldnt take size over quality.. the 32" sammy at sears and fs for $629 was much hotter in my opinion.

The Dell specs lists 4 x HDMI ports, but the Westinghouse product specs lists 2. Odds are Westinghouse probably has it right.
Both the PCV and Dell offers are good deals, but I'd say this unit from Dell gets sweeter the further you are from Toronto, since shipping charges move up to at least $60 from PCV (to Vancouver, for instance).

Found a post online mentioning this model of Westinghouse was selling regular price at Costco US at one point for $699. Find it hard to call this a good deal after that. Though it's a joke how much more expensive other brands are at places like FS.
Still holding out for something bigger myself... there is no right time to buy though.

Go with the bigger LCD. I just got a new 22" LCD and I am amazed over the quality of a bigger screen over my old 19 inch 4:3 LCD. And the 19 inch widescreen LCD has less area than the old square LCDs.

This was the first I saw on the dell site, is this guy saying its a refurb??
I don't buy much on line but I needed a better monitor for my computer and ordered this one. VERY nice in all respects. Those of you out there who are hesitant to order remanufactured items, have no fear with Dell. This item looks and operates just AS NEW. A very good price. Your phone rep was of great help assuring me that this would be just plug and play and it indeed was. Sometimes things are hard to connect up, especially for people like me who are not computer experts, but this was as easy as putting in a new light bulb! VERY VERY good work, Dell.
Cons
absolutely none.

People have definitely mentioned it.
I really don't think it's THAT bad of a deal. If you were going to get one anyways, you save $10 and get a free game. Not very hot, but if you were going to buy that game anyways, you'd be saving about $40 total which is fairly good.
If you don't mind the effort, hit your local BBV and pick up 6 games with > $8 TIV and trade them in at EB instead. You could conceivable get your DS for under $50 (like I did). :)

I have a feeling this is like comparing apples to oranges but I just purchased a 20"wide Samsung LCD monitor (SyncMaster 2043NW) from Future shop last week for 169 (on sale for 189 and then I had the SDM 20 coupon). How is the PS3 bundle even considered a good deal??
PS3 - $399 @ FS/BB/EBG
Remote - $24.99 @ FS/BB/EBG
HDMI Cable - $10.00 @ Monoprice (because you'd be borderline crazy paying retail price for it)
Estimated Total - 433.99 + tax
I save $10.00?? Call the boys, I'm hitting Super Sexxe with the money I just saved, honey.

For folks considering the Westinghouse 42"..
Beyond the differences already posted in this thread, the model Dell is selling ONLY DOES 1080p through the HDMI input. It does NOT do HDMI over component, whereas the TX model offered at PC Village does offer 1080p through component.

You do realize that a 17" CRT has a BIGGER screen than a 19" WS LCD, right?
edit: check out http://www.cavecreations.com/tv2.cgi
LOL your kidding right?
yes a 17" CRT (which is usually a 16.1" viewable area) has a larger viewable area if you use it with a 4:3 aspect ratio, but who would set their aspect ratio to 4:3 on a widescreen monitor or TV.
And also monitors don't work quite the same way as TVs ;)

People have definitely mentioned it.
I really don't think it's THAT bad of a deal. If you were going to get one anyways, you save $10 and get a free game. Not very hot, but if you were going to buy that game anyways, you'd be saving about $40 total which is fairly good.
If you don't mind the effort, hit your local BBV and pick up 6 games with > $8 TIV and trade them in at EB instead. You could conceivable get your DS for under $50 (like I did). :)
I don't even think you can get an original DS new anymore...
+1
I don't have time like most of the people on this board anymore to shop around and stuff. It's enough to check RFD online ... but not going around price matching and all that jazz ... I wanted to pick a DS Lite for my 6 year old for his bday in Dec and this fits the bill.
Sure, i've seen the DS for 99.99 standalone .... and you can do other things to get it lower but I get to order from home and get it shipped for no extra charge to my door. That's good enough for me.
Plus, I get it before the xmas crush and it gives me time to order an r4 or whatever is the best choice nowadays. What are people ordering nowadays?

19" LCD is HOT. I remember trying to look for this monitor size under 200 only 3 months ago and the only thing I could find is an Acer (with no DVI!)

edit: check out http://www.cavecreations.com/tv2.cgi
I think a 17" CRT only has a viewable area of about 15.5" because of the border. Just how CRT sizes are measured.
Now a 17" LCD would have a similar viewing experience compare to a 19" WS LCD. Basically the 19" has a simlar height to the 17", but wider horizontally.

so is the DS deal that bad? I've been looking to pick one up.
Yes, the NDSL bundled deal is a very decent deal if you're not picky on the colour. The Dell bundle is for the Crimson Red version of the NDSL with the Professor Layton game. The game itself it pretty fun. It's an RPG mystery puzzle (ŕ-la Sherlock Holmes) game. Very good reviews for the game. Worst case scenerio, you can probably sell the game for $20, making the NDSL only $100.
wait is that a DS or a DS lite?
It's the NDSL.

Let me give you guys/gals' some 'live' measurements :)
I have both monitors (19" WS LCD + Dell 17" CRT) in question. The 17" CRT measures 12.5" x 9.5" (= 118.75 sq. in) and the 19" WS LCD measures 16" x 10" (= 160 sq. in)
Resolution-wise, I am running the 19" WS at its native 1440 x 900 and 17" CRT at 1024 x 768.
So 19" WS LCD is +35% (physical viewing area) and +65% (resolutions, Windows desktop space).

The max resolution for 2 of these 19-inch LCD monitors would be 2880 x 900 (assuming that they're side-by-side) = 2,592,000 pixels
The max resolution for a 24-inch LCD monitor is typically 1920 x 1200 = 2,304,000 pixels
Hmmm... you'll get slightly more resolution from the 2 x 19-inch LCDs, but I don't think I'd be happy with a screen height of only 900 pixels.
Personally, I'd go for a 24-inch LCD.

On a 1080 screen your chances of having abad pixel is a gamble. Dell offers a great 30 day no hassle return/exchange policy. Pcv doesn't and neither doesn't westy.

They are sold out but probably due to a glitch people could still add to their cart and purchase it (as a previous poster mentioned they did exactly that) so to stop it they took down the page...From the dell website: ...
Smart move from them. Thank you and jmgk for the replies.

That TV goes for the same price at every other retailer I've seen:

It's not exactly hot, but it's not a bad price either.

Today's PS3 is the new 80gb which is 399.99$ and is comparable to the discontinued 40gb PS3, so it's not a very hot deal

Just wondering why you think it's better than the Dell one? The dell model has 2000:1 CR and 6.5 ms response time vs the model at SIG which has 1000:1 and 8ms. It seems the Dell one might even have 4 hdmi inputs as well.

Well, I wanted an IP Camera for a while now. This special pushed me over the edge so I bought it.
I pick up my 5 year old at school every day at 2pm and I finish my work day in the basement but I wanted to be able to keep an eye on her while she's upstairs. Done! :)
Of course, it will also be a nice addition to the security system.

The specs on the Dell site are not correct. This model does have 4 HDMI inputs and it's a newer model, just released this year.

So the 80gig Bundle for $424 with HDMI and Blu-Ray remote is not a good deal?
80GB console with dual shock is 399.99 regular + blu-ray remote can be had for $20-$25 + HDMI can be had for about $5 shipped from monoprice. so basically this deal is retail.

can you fold the seats down in a corolla?
My friend was able to fit it in his mazda3 hatchback by doing that...
hmmm... i don't know how your friend put his tv in his mazda3 hactback because I bought the VX model from bestbuy and couldn't put it in either my mazda3 or my corolla. The box is simply to big to put in it.... Maybe if you put it in the car without the box and lay it down it might work.... but still it is not recommended to carry it that way.

Strange...
Received an email with the following subject today "Dell Order Has Shipped for Order Number: XXXXXXXXX" for the 19" LCD. In this email is the following:
Shipping Method:Canada Standard
and there is no tracking number on the order status page OR in the email...
Out of all the things I've ordered from Dell, this is the first time I've received this email and the first time where an item was shipped without a tracking number....so strange!

I got my 42" Westinghouse today. It seems quite nice. It took some tinkering to get the picture settings optimal. The strange thing is that our previous TV in the bedroom was a dinosaur 32" Super frikkin heavy Sony trinitron and so all my remotes were set to the Sony codes....imagine my surprise when the Westy responded to the Sony codes!! I didn't have to change anything. Even our Sony DVD player remote which is not programmable but will control a Sony TV....worked with this Westy!
Now that it is set up I am quite happy. Feeding it via a Starchoice 505 satalite receiver DVI-HDMI.
I now have to tinker with the audio to get it where I want it.
BTW...it does have 4 HDMI inputs.

My Personal SE198WFP review...
Not too happy with the 19" LCD right now (connected via DVI)...could be my video card but I noticed the following using the Dell LCD as a secondary monitor:
1. Setting the resolution to 1440x900 does not appear to work correctly. For example, putting a Firefox browser on the Dell monitor when it is at this resolution actually stretches the browser window beyond the LCD itself...and 1440x900 is supposed to be the "Optimal" setting?
2. So I tried playing with the resolutions and 1152x864 seems to give me the clearest text...but it is still not as sharp as my primary monitor (a Viewsonic..21" (??))...
3. I ran Dead Pixel Buddy and it looks like I have two dead pixels... could be the video card however since I'm running a 7900GT which has been showing artifacts on my primary display because of its well known heat issues :\
Anyways...this LCD is going to my dad so it'll be good enough for him coming from a 17" CRT =) however I would not recommend it for anyone else looking for cheap displays - based on my experience so far anyways ;)
*** Update ***
So I wanted to see if maybe there was a problem with the 1440x900 resolution + DVI so I unhooked the monitor and threw on a DVI -> VGA adapter, hooked the monitor via VGA this time around and it appears that problem 1 and 2 have been resolved. Problem 3 seems to be on and off so I'll chalk it up to the video card...
Since my dad is using an old CRT anyways and his computer only uses VGA, this monitor is looking better now...it's too bad about the DVI.
*** Update 2 ***
I don't know if anyone else has this problem but even at 1440x900 (via VGA)...and vertical positioning set to 100...the bottom of my browser window is slightly cut off when fully maximized :\
