Here's the story.
I went to CT to get PM for an item on sale elsewhere at $100 where at CT, the price is at $150. They did fight hard not to price match but after arguing for an hour and talking to head office, they did agree to price match.
Now the thing is that their price match policy states basically this: "CT would PM and give the customer back 10% of the ORIGINAL price in CT money". You got it right 10% of the ORIGINAL price and not the DIFFERENCE in pricing. (this statement is written on a board i saw in 2 different stores)
So the original price to match is $100 consequently I got 10 CT dollars back.
I do not need to buy anything big but right now, based on their policy, for example, if an item cost $4999 elsewhere but is sold at $5000 at CT (could be a giant 64" LCD for example). Well, if you can get them to PM (which will not be easy), they will have to give you back 10% on $4999 = $499 in CT money and not 10$ on the difference which is 10% on $1 = 10 cents. So all you need is to find is an item that may only be 1cent less than CT and try to get the 10% back which is really the thing to look for here.
BTW, their computer system did automatically calculate the payback and I did get my $10 on the $100 they PM. Also, based on what I see when dealing with the salesperson, I think they will bring this matter up to their management and change it. So if you want to use this policy, got to do it before it is too late.
