Been looking around at a few cars and from my research the Ford Probe's seem to be reasonably priced. There are a couple that are from the year 94, are these cars reliable? Any known issues with them? How are they on insurance?

Please post any experiences with this car,
Thanks!

lol...we had a 93, and it was fun while it lasted  along came a baby seat and stroller and 2 Rotties and it made no sense to us.

I seriously doubt that any Probe would be worth it now, as it was a loud, rickety car new.

MX6 or 626 isn't even better. I had a 94 MX6 before and got many problems, sold it after a year. Better off buy a Civic 93-95 instead. You can get one from 1500-3000$ and parts are cheap.

The 4cyl - 5 spd is a good choice, both the V6 and the automatic have some issues though.

i don't think any car you get from 1994 is gonna be very reliable.

If you're not great with the wrench, then perhaps.

The KLZE motor isn't that bad. I've seen a Probe go round at an auto-x and it performed quite well. If you're looking for a project or track car then it might be for you.

Reliability issues would steer me away from it being my daily driver. Then again I wouldn't buy it at all since I'm a Nissan guy.

That information is simply false.

1. Anyone contemplating buying a 14 year old car should expect to be performing some work on the vehicle. If you are not planning to do this yourself, I hope you have connections to a trustworthy and reasonable mechanic.
2. A '94 Probe is not a bad choice if this is the type of car you are in the market for (2-door "sporty", with decent power). I had a '93 MX6 (almost the same car) for quite a few years and while it required more than average amount of maintenance, it was a great car to drive and had a lot of features only found on higher end vehicle (at the time).

I doubt a '94 Probe is going to cost you a lot to buy, the cost will be in maintenance as it would with ANY 14 year old car... civic, corolla, etc. would all require higher than average maintenance when 14 years old.

As for insurance, I don't recall my Mazda MX6 being that high... and I was < 25 at the time.
