Not even sure if I spelled it right, but was thinking of getting my wife one of these for Christmas.

Now 3 things.

1. Is this a good idea. I mean getting a vaccuum cleaner for Christmas isnt super exciting. But it is a robot one, so that would make it cool. Plus our entire house is ceramic tile (minus the kids bedrooms) So we could just have this run all day. Plus we only have one flight of stairs without a door, so it would be easy to just let run free

2. Who has one of these. Good things, bad things about them

3. Of course, wheres the bext deal. Ive seen them a few places now, even the CT flyer, but its some weird brand name

Bumping an old thread for Christmas. I am totally out of ideas for Christmas this year for my wife. She has mentioned these in the past how handy they would be for the house (we have all ceramic tile)

Basically seeing what deals are out there, what models to stay away from, etc, etc

There's a roomba thread here: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/ask-me-anything-about-irobot-roomba-scooba-831176/

There's also a few threads around talking about sales and discounts if you search.

I bought an "entry level" roomba last spring and loved it. I have mostly hardwood and ceramic. Worked great, picked up the dog hair, climbed up onto the living room rug, didn't fall down the stairs, my dog was afraid of it and hid. Then new dog arrived. Jack chases is it and tries to play with it, batting it around with his paws and trying to pick it up, so roomba is in the basement waiting for a new home.
