Hey guys, I was wondering if it was possible to get the g1 exit test before the 8 month mandatory rule? My mom said she was able to get hers done in nearly 3-4 months; but this was 4 years ago.

No, I don't think she was able to do that 4 years ago.

If you take a recognized driving course...sure.

AzN_RiverdaleCI is right... The fastest time is 8 mths with drivers Ed. On the older system (i think around 15 years ago or more) you did a written test known as "365" test, you could get your full liscense shortly after.

Like others have said, 8 months with driving school (you have to pass), and 12 without...
Your mom is lying.

btw, where did your mum get the license? If you were in NS, you can get it within 6 months or less (can't remember). But in Ontario, it is 8 months with lessons, 12 months without.

If you have prior recognized driving experience (such as in a different province / country), it is possible to take your G1 exit test earlier, as soon as your total experience reaches 8 months (with driving school) or 12 months (without). You would of course need to provide proof of that experience to the MTO.
If you're starting from scratch, there's no way around the wait time period.

I have a friend who skipped the whole graduated licensing process for motorcycles by doing the written M1 test in Ontario just before moving out to BC for University. Once he got there, he applied for the full M license (switch from ON to BC?) and got it.
I did not agree with what he did but fortunately he was smart enough to still take lessons and is a very responsible biker.
So perhaps it is possible to do the same with the G license if you're willing to move out of province.

New drivers of passenger vehicles learn to drive with six important conditions with a G1 licence. A new driver must hold a G1 licence for a minimum of 12 months before attempting the G1 road test. This time can be reduced to eight months if you successfully complete a Ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education Course.
After you pass a motorcycle knowledge test, you will get a Class M1 licence and an information package for new riders. You must spend a minimum of 60 days with a Class M1 licence, which is valid for 90 days.
Motorcycle riders who successfully complete an approved motorcycle safety course that includes a road test with an M1 licence are exempt from taking the ministry's M1 road test and can move to an M2 licence after 60 days. If you complete an approved safety course in either level, you can reduce the time that you must hold an M2 licence from 22 to 18 months. While the motorcycle safety course certificate is valid for two years from its issue date, it may only be used for the M1 road test exemption within six months of its issue date.
