If anyone calls with a good deal to offer warranty for your car from National dealers warranty. Do not take it, because I went with them and I called back within few minutes they refuse to cancel the policy and say it's already processed. At first they told me I had 30 days to cancel.
Then the guy told me he'll take me off, so I called back couple hours to comfirm with someone else. They told me I'm still on it and that she would take me off the policy and gave me a confirmation #. Few days later they charged my credit card and when I called back they said after 24 hours they had setup a policy number and when that happens I can't cancel until i fax them a letter and that would take another 15 days.
There have been other cases of this if you search on the net. Too bad I was in a hurry to work and they don't give me time to think it over and do my research first. I thought they were part of my dealers warranty since they seem to know the history of my car and that I'm just finished with the original warranty.

can you dispute it?

If you bought through a credit card, start the dispute process for the charge.
Call them back and ask to speak to a manager and explain that you are absolutely cancelling the policy as it was clearly stated you could do so within 30 days and explain the run-around you got on numerous calls to them. Also point out it is the law that buyers can get out of such contracts and you are well within the period of time protecting you. Finally, tell that manager that the credit card charge will be rejected so they won't be getting your money anyway. If they simply comply and cancel the policy for you the matter will end (they aren't getting paid anyway) - otherwise, you will do all you can to publicize their business practices on the internet and otherwise and ensure that it harms their business much more than just losing you as a customer ever would.
Bottom line - I hope you used a credit card so you can simply dispute the charge and cut off their funds. It definitely is not a fun position to be in and they can make it a huge pain for you to assert your rights.
I'm sure there are people here who can recommend the next steps to report this company if you wish to do so - but I have never heard of anything coming from such actions (sadly).

thx for replying and giving advice, I did use a credit card which they put charges on, I was told they will charge a deposit for $195 it ended up being $202 and the statement shows some worldwide warranty instead of national dealers warranty. I also talked to their manager, all she told me was that after 24 hours they will create a policy number and once the number is created, only way I could cancel was to fax in a letter and it takes half a month to process. It doesn't make sense because I cancelled within minutes. Then I called back again in couple of hours to comfirm and cancel again with a comfirmation number. It was still not cancelled, it's like they just ignored me and lied to me and kept going with the process.
I also called my credit card company on the same day before they processed it, but the guy at my creditcard company told me that as long as I gave them my credit card info I'm responsible and that I have to wait for the charges to show up.
So I called back to my credit card yesterday because I don't trust that warranty place, what if they start charging more. So cancelled my credit card and told them that worldwide warranty I never heard of. The person at the credit card centre even tried searching for the company and asked me if I bought any warranty for my olympus camera. (that is what is brought up if you google the company name on the statement).
Its just so stupid, even if you buy something with a credit card and cancel the same day, the charges wouldn't even be processed or it will cancel out because it's credited it back. This company is bunch of liers, telling me how it's already been processed and can't be cancelled when they first told me I have 30 days to cancel.
If there are anyone here that knows what else I could do to report this company let me know. I know consumer reports but it doesn't really do anything.

Have you tried the Better Business Bureau?
http://welcome.bbb.org/
or maybe the Canadian Automobile association?

this is weird, I talked to the manager yesterday and she told me that I have to fax them a letter saying I want to cancel and she told me that it will take half a month. I just called back today and some other guy told me they already send out a cheque. Thats like bs because they just put the charges on my credit card couple days ago, y can't they credit it and now they send me a cheque? I don't trust them and the guy said the manager is busy so I couldn't talk to her.

I think it's time for Silverman Helps from CityTV. Call him and tell him your case. He GETS things done.

Do not purchase warranty from anyone that contacts you over the phone. I've read of people getting scammed by false warranties and people selling fake warranties over the phone. Verbal contracts are very difficult to hold up on court if needed. You always want to see the writing in full (including fine print).

The "send out a cheque" comment sounds like a stall tactic to me. Once a certain number of days passes, you lose your legal right to back out of a deal. They will likely try to bleed out that number of days.
Even if you do the fax and record phone calls, etc. and keep a paper trail... they likely still won't pay. You then would have to sue them to try to get your money back, etc..... they expect that you won't bother and will give up (that's my guess as to what they are doing).
So... once again... I would have 100% got the charge reversed on my credit card (and then likely cancelled it and had a new one issued so they couldn't put more charges on). You have to fight crooks with the tools you have... and doing a credit card dispute process is something they won't want to go through the hassle of... if they don't have your physical signature, they would have a very hard time winning such a dispute so that was your "power".

that's what I thought, cus I never signed anything other than the letter that I faxed telling them I want to cancel. Plus I already called my credit card company telling them I donno what those charges were and I'm not really lying because the charges were made by world wide warranties which shows up on the net as a warranty service for olympus cameras. And it's not even the right amount.
If I do get a cheque next week and able to cash it, then I'll contact the card center and pay that charge, if not I'll leave it for the credit card company to find out what happened. I never got no service or anything so why should I have to pay.
hehe I don't think silverman would help in my situation cus it's not even a local problem and not enough victims. That company is in the usa but seems to also supply these so called warranty in canada.

political parties are jokes, it's just another job which = making money for a living. Do you actually think there are still people out there that actually care about others and not always look out for #1?
All the taxes and stuff, everyones money goes towards their salary and spendings. We only get a small portion back

heh thx, at least I learned something, I'm always too soft hearted, now on I'll just not waste anymore of my time and just hang up on those phone calls.
I just have to wait and see what happens, because I'm pretty sure they are using the "cheque being sent out already" to buy time. Wait till they find out I already called my card company. They'll have fun trying to get my money, unless the credit card company are idiots and tells me that I have to pay because I took the policy.
