Didn't find one in search.
Here it is: http://www.amazon.ca/300-Blu-ray/dp/B000R7G9HE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1222434190&sr=1-1 Just got mine yesterday @ Wal-mart for $18.xx :(
Hope this is a sign of Blu-ray coming down in price since there seems to be an overall price drop for them in general, especially WB ones.

You paid $6 too much since most people got 300 for free, with their HD DVD player. I did.
Anyways, back to the thread, 300 is $19 at Walmart. Amazon charges about $6 shipping so its cheaper at Wallyworld.

Though if you have $40 worth of stuff to buy and a *new* customer ($10 coupon), you can technically get 300 for $6.99.:cheesygri

Wow, first reply is all it took to turn this into an HD DVD vs Blu-Ray thread. Some people make me weep for the future. Solid price, though. Thanks OP.

Will there be a big difference between watching it on BD vs HD? Only reason I ask is cuz i have both and yes $16.99 is a great price for BD but $6.99 for HD is even better...unless there is a significant difference.

I got this from SIG Eletronics for 15 bucks two months ago. But I don't see it on their site anymore so this point is moot.

Come on guys, is there really a difference between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray?
In my opinion, there isn't.

Visually no difference, technically the HD DVD version is superior because of the extras.

of course there isnt. but thats not the point. all new entrants to high def from now on will have to buy blu-ray. why bring up hd-dvd all the time? which is what the vhs guy meant.

Same here. I have both.
The BR Fanboys continually waive about the fact that BR format can hold 50gb of data. Truth is, the vast majority of the 50gb discs, are only adding additional stuff like deleted scenes, interviews, etc.
I liked HD DVD because even in its infancy, it included the TrueHD and DolbyDigital+ codecs which my receiver decodes quite nicely.
I've owned both for a year, and on a 58" plasma, I cannot see any differences, except for the fact that
the stock of HD DVD titles is finite. There are no NEW movies for HD DVD.
This is actually a good time to be in both camps.

I have both too. Since I rip everything to my media server anyway, it's nice to be able to get the much cheaper HD-DVD titles. A pity there will be no more, but if the format hadn't failed, the movies wouldn't be cheap anyway. Now if only it had failed a year later. :)

Do a Google for "High Def Digest". Their reviews reveal that the actual video content (of the actual movie anyway, if not the extras) on both formats is usually identical. The main difference between the two is the physical construction of the discs - and unfortunately that is what keeps them incompatible with each other.

Since he didn't have it already, $6 is a good price. It's a decent movie with plenty of on-disc extras, making it one of the better titles.

You should perhaps look into a usenet account.
$45 for 3 months and unlimited downloads, I get 1mb/s always.
For the cost of about 7 HD DVD's u can have the whole libray.

To get back on topic, why not just buy it at Walmart for $18.83. Comes out cheaper than Amazon in the end.

lol,
Any thread with Blu-Ray or HD-DVD in the title ends up being quite amusing. It's always degenerates to a "my daddy can beat up your daddy" type of thing.

Wow it's amazing how my post has affected this thread, apologies to the OP. Well, I had no intention of creating a HD-DVD vs BluRay discussion with my post. I don't care about that as I own players for both formats.
I posted just to point out that there is a HD-DVD version of this movie on the cheap for people who, like me, have both systems. The compression is usually the same for HD movies regardless of the format.
Anyway, for those still wanting the hd-dvd version, it's $4 delivery to Canada and cheaper than HMV on this site

hmm... please kindly point me to the thread that informs about the 16.99 on amazon.ca from months ago, cause I would think mid 10s months ago for blu-ray would be a hot deal.
Noobie mistake for posting a *cold* thread :p

The 300 blu-ray version has Uncompressed PCM 5.1 sound which I find is superior to the HD-DVD Dolby TruHD. I own both and compared it. But yeah, in terms of extras the HD-DVD version beats it.

thanks OP! but i guess you are a few months late  i bought this two months ago for $29.99.
300 really can be a demo disk for your HDTV sets. the storyline is mediocre but the effects and sound are A+++.
