However, remember the currency is in USD. So your credit card company will do the exchange rate.

I remember their sizes for t-shirts not very reliable. All the t-shirts I got XS were fine. Except for one XS size that was like a large. I don't know if it was a manufacture mistake or if it was designed to match baggy jeans so that you can look like a ghetto gangster.

Surprised at the duty fee. I don't remember a duty last time I bought from ae.com. When I saw the PayPal payment option, I went back and upped my order to about $200 (Have a lot of USD stuck in PayPal). Then I saw the duty fee and I removed a ton of stuff so that my order went back down to $120. I would love to buy more but the duty is expensive.. about 16% of your order.

Yes you will receive a Canada Post tracking number in a day or two.
Check back on your order status Tuesday and it should show.

Was in store today and they have a free $10 gift card if you spend over $50. Only stipulations are 1) you have to use it between Dec. 26 and Jan. 23 and 2) you have to spend a minimum of $30 (which is really low).

I also got a $10 giftcard for AERIE for use from Dec. 18 to Dec. 27 with a $50 purchase. This one is even sweeter with a no minimum purchase amount.

Also with a lot of items in the store, you should get the cashier to ring in the tag to double check the price. I bought 4 long sleeve thermal tops for my boyfriend because they are buy 1, get 1 half off. 3 of the 4 rang in $10 less than the ticketed price ($19.50 instead of $29.50) and the last one came in at $34.50 (same shirt but wide stripes). The only infomation listed there is 'Information Electronically Submitted'. Finally I said do as you wish clearly you aren't contacting me as you aren't doing anything (they say they are on pending status which then has to go to new status then refund). I'm like I'll simply just call my CC and file a chargeback at the end of the week, I said I have given them more than enough time and oppurunties to correct the situation to which the agent agreed and said by all means do I would...... good times...

I haven't done that exactly. I bought a jacket online in September, wore it a couple times, realized it was kind of small then returned it last week lol. You can exchange or get store credit even without a receipt. And are you sure it's cheaper online even with having to pay duty, and tax, and tax on the duty?

If you mean, will they let you make it so that if you buy 2 $10 items, 2 $20 items, and 2 $30 items, will they make it so that you get 50% off one item of each price, then no. It would have to be 50% off the 2 $10 items and one $20 item. Your reward code can only be used once, so everything would have to go through in one transaction and the system will automatically take the 50% off the cheapest items.

Yes, I noticed that as well. Irrespective of the value of the item, if you put in a t-shirt, they charge duties... so I didn't order a t-shirt.
However, a pair of jeans, if its under $20 after the discount, they don't charge duties!

$23.70 US is what I paid for a pair of jeans tax-included and shipping included (with the 30% off clearance code)
And I bought the item with a gift card I purchased at 20% off... so in the end, costed me $19 US exactly for 1 pair of jeans tax-in and shipping-in. And the price of the jeans was 49.99 originally!

I was charged duty as well and when I called the hot line, the rep told me that there was nothing she could do about it. I ended up making two seperate transactions, one at $17.50 and $9.00 before taxes and 'duties'. Let me know if anyone was reimbursed the duty charge!

YMMV with returning/exchanging online items to AE stores. I tried it once, and the lady said I could return/exchange IF they carried that particular item at the store.

If they didn't, however, SOL. If you do need to return something for a refund, they do give out the free mailing stickers so it doesn't cost you anything.

Last time I tried to return a $20.00 item to AE, it cost like ~8 dollars. Check stores for the mailing slip if you have to.

LAST point: I haven't received my refund from AE though. Anyone ever refund anything and have a similar experience? It's been a couple weeks now.

Usually they'll let you exchange in stores.
But they wont refund you unless you ship it back (at your own expense) since Im pretty sure the shipping label only works for US residence.

On a different note, call AE to get duty refunded if your order is <$20.
The rep said corporate head office will deal with the issue and will reply in 2-3 business days. :)

I was able to return an item I purchased online for store credit at a local AE store. They pointed out that it was against the online AE.com return policy, but I think they made an exception and gave me store credit.

If you look at the coupon more closely you will notice that the customer id barcode number is zero-out (0000000000000000) and the authorization number is generic ( i just checked it against mine i received by email).

The cashier was most likely making sure you only used it once?

sounds to me like its select styles as well. dont think you'll find much stock in stores though.

probably better off getting it online instead with 3+ items for free shipping and the CDN dollar at parity. (even though you have to pay duty)

Even with the duty I got some pretty cheap deals from their clearance section when it was an extra 30% off clearance + 25% off/free shipping. The $15 for shipping/duty fees always ruin the deals for me otherwise.

I personally didn't use the coupon yet but I think it should be valid in stores. I got the coupon online after signing up for their contest (i.e. they didn't actually send me a physical coupon in the mail)...so I don't think it matters.
