a good tip to know when shopping around for closet companies is get a qoute for what you would like from one company and price match it with another company

i know for a fact that you can get 10 some times 20% discount on closets if you do this .

My friend paid in the upper hundreds per linear foot for his custom closet.
I'd go with Ikea pax.

+1.
I was surprised by the quality of the material that California closet. They use particle board just like Ikea. And it honestly does not look that much better than Ikea.

Ikea = $1500, California Closet = $15,000.
Choose Wisely.. =)

Ikea's system is a bit deep for a walk-in closet and I have been driving myself crazy to design something. In the end, I will use a mix of Ikea fittingsand the particleboards found at Rona which come in premade, pre coloured and pre finished sizes and widths at a fraction of the price.

I will build the cabinets, shelving myself and add on the interior Ikea fittings. Most likely I will be able to do 2 walk-in closets for under $400.
