Hi

It's been a while, but I've got 2 questions! Please tech-savvy advice only!

1) CPU or VGA problems

In my desktop rig with Gigabyte "GA-P35-DS3L", I took out a P4 2.93ghz in it and replaced it with a E6400. Nothing is wrong with this. :cheesygri

When I put the bios into "optimize mode" problems occur, while "load-safe mode" loads XP fine.

Problem is that my old X700pro, is giving me ati2dvag issues, such as "stuck in infinite loop" or "memory dump" blue screens on start up. I have a homemade passive cooler on it (taken from an old card). I don't think it's too hot at all (especially start-up).

Could it be that I need a fresh install of XP?

2) What is a sick CPU cooler you'd recommend?

Should I go for the Tuniq 120 or the Ultra 120 or TRUE? I probably won't use this for OCing, but it is just a novelty? What is a mid range one you'd also recommend?

I've used a few already, and I am tempted to try the Arctic Freezer Pro..

Thanks a bunch!

Try and uninstall then reinstall the ATI drivers... this may not do it though. You might have to search through your registry and manually delete the ATI stuff.

The Artic Freezer is good.

I've reinstalled the ATI drivers and updated MB bios already... I googled the problem, and most say it's the card being too hot, but I doubt it. Somehow, I think it's my CPU affecting the VGA...

Good article thanks...

How much cooling does a case really need?
