HD Problem: XP recognizes partition, Vista doesn't [SCREENS]

One of my partitions has disappeared from my vista, but when I go into WinXP it shows fine. The drive is a 500GB split in 4 partitions:

C: < Vista (NTFS)
D: < XP (NTFS)
E: < HP Recovery
F: < Drive that doesn't show up.

Although it shows up in my Computer Management, I cannot change its path or letter. This is driving me crazy.

When I right click on the drive to change it's path or go to properties I get this message:

Maybe Vista needs the letters in order. Have you tried changing the XP partition to E?

I believe this sounds like a driver issue or something in regards to disk initialization. Go to the device manager in Vista and check the Hard Disks driver. Uninstall the device and restart to force Vista to reinstall the device driver; Else try updating the driver.

You could also try updating your computers BIOS and double checking the drives jumper settings to be sure everything is correct. I think bunny may have sorta been onto something, meaning its possible it has something to do with the disk order. I'm not sure what the bus type is, but try another SATA/IDE port or slaving the device.

EDIT/Curious: Is this Vista x64?

Further Advice: If you're still plagued by this, then a work around might be to simply copy the F: drives contents to say C: and then reformat F: in Vista and copy the data back in.

Just wondering, but would the missing partition happened to have been created from in XP and set as a dynamic disk?
