How to "mattify" my leather jacket?

Hey guys,

So I bought this leather jacket few months ago from a really good deal. When I try to wear it today, I realize that the natural shine of the leather is too shiny and fake-looking for me. I'm sure it's made from genuine leather, but probably not high quality genuine leather since I bought it more for its style than its durability. Therefore, does anyone know how I can "mattify" or reduce the shine of my leather jacket.

Thanks and greatly appreciate! :cheesygri

Simply use an abrasive pad on the jacket , experimenting with different guages to get the desired effect.

Then apply alcohol cleaner.

ALWAYS test somewhere where it wont be so obvious if you screw up, i.e under the collar.

Slam it on the ground. That's what they do for "GPA" jackets at Queens Engineering.

I find that it usually makes it look uglier rather than giving it the "aged" look that they initially wanted.
