Gears of War 2 on Xbox 360

Wow - I just played for an hour and I must say that this game is intense and fun! Really gets the adrenaline going.

The graphics are amazing as is the gameplay which is quite fast. The enemy AI seems to be quite good. You can play multiplayer at home but it is horizontal split screen which can make it difficult to play.

I just wish there was some sort of map mode. Maybe there is but I have not found it yet. This makes finding your objectives a bit more difficult.

Well worth getting in my opinion.

when ppl on rfd post, wow this game is great blah blah blah before release day...almost 90% of the time they have obtain their copy from torrent or newsgroup

It was leaked about a week ago. Fantastic game though.. Multiplayer is tuned to be insanely competitive and storyline is incredible as always! Definitely doesn't disappoint.

how much of a difference there is between gears 1 and 2?

multiplayer is completely revamped. no more flying shotgun guys, cause they'll die like bitches now... unless they are actually good.

New 3d Engine, way better graphics...

CAMPAIGN MODE!!! wooo

10x more epic than the first... if you like playing campaign mode, you will love it. While in the first one it felt like you were just doing commando stuff all over the place, this one feels like you're actually doing commando stuff in the middle of a huge ass war.
I don't want to spoil anything... but expect crazy ass stuff.

I have left my warez ways long ago; for games anyway.

I have access to 0-day releases but I just can't be bothered anymore at my age.

GoW2 sounds like a good game. I never beat the first one but I might give it an honest go then see how the continuation goes.

I am inside the Rift Worm - looking for its heart.
This game is just amazing in campaign mode!
I like how there are a lot of checkpoint saves
I need them as I keep dying

You know, Media Molecule said LBP could be done on 360 if the hard-drive was standard in all consoles. The arcade/core unit is to blame why it's not multiplatform.

Co-op was tons of fun in GoW so I'll probably pick this up down the line (come on Rogers!), but great storyline it did not have before. I doubt this one's any better.

I found that the campaign in Gears 1 was very short when you play in co-op mode.

Finished single player campaign mode in about 11 hours.
The ending was not too difficult.

Make sure you keep the Hammer of Dawn

they wanted to just work on a 360 version to keep it optimized and to keep it exclusive.

A lot of fun comes from co-op online for a lot of games, though. Personally, I prefer to have my screen to myself when playing co-op.

co-op works best when you can call out strategies on the fly.. The PC version few people used headsets most people online just did their own thing.. Nothing more frustrating than some n00b agro all the bad guys in a level leroy jenkins style. At least if they do it in your living room you can beat them up in real life.

Yeah, the battles contain quite a bit more locust.

And there are scenes where u go through a warzone and theres a shitton of locusts.... and then ur on a thing... so yea... u kill em all in 1 shot.

IT's 2 players for campaign. Marcus, and Dom. (they said they wanted the players to connect with the charactors... like halo 16 player co-op is just gonna be a shoot everything that moves game)

5 Players for Horde Mode (50 waves of lokcusts running at u)

and 4 player coop is only for horde. i believe you can play up to 5 players in that mode. story is only 2

I thought the first one was difficult playing solo :S stupid computer AI would always kill itself and I would have to save everyone.

Yeah that's true. But in this one I find it even more difficult. The locust are a lot smarter...they revive downed teammates, flank, and they are cunning. In the first one, they just came at you.

3 weeks early, to be exact. But then again I never really believed that piracy hurt sales as much as a lot of developers would have you believe. Usually the people who actually go to the great lengths of DLing it early are the big fans who already have it pre-ordered.

It's not a bad game, but I'm in it just for the campaign. A lot prettier than the first one though.

Yeah, that was my beef the no final boss part (and I guess you can add the other one too hehe). Whats with games lately not having a final boss or a final boss thats a pushover eg, Fable2. Maybe I'm used to those epic final boss battles in RPGs.

Aside from that amazing game from start to finish.

agreed. first starting playin at normal but was too easy so started over at hardcore. it's pretty challenging and more enjoyable.
