Do you store your BBQ for the winter or leave it outside covered?
The past few winters we have stored it in the garage, but this year we have no more space and will be leaving it outside, minus the gas tank of course.
Should I be concerned?

I'm not understanding something.....how can you use your BBQ if you have it "stored"? ;)
This is Canada - use your BBQ all year round!!!!!!!
Cheers.

Well if it doesn't fit in the garage, there isn't much you can do.. consider it an opportunity to BBQ during winter when it's nice outside! :D
I do the same..

I've left my middle-of-the-road BBQ covered outside for 5 winters and haven't seen any detrimental effects of doing so.

Are you nuts? Don't keep the gas tank inside! It's the heat that is the big risk of explosion. Leave it outside, as far away from the house as possible, hidden from the sun as much as possible (no direct sunlight). I leave mine hidden between my backyard fence and the pool house.

Ours is outside all winter, covered when not in use. No need to disconnect the gas tank.

Outside for the past 12 years. Uncovered spring, summer and fall. Covered Monday to Friday during the winter (scraping off the ice is a pain)
Some rust on one of the support rails. May have to buy a new Weber in 3 or 4 years.

I'm a Rainford fan, I BBQ during blizzards, so outside.
The only detrimental thing is replacing the cover every couple of years.

lol it's actually just a shed with a window and a door... We use it to store our pool stuff though, hence the name :)

So leaving it outside is okay, are you not going to rust the tank?
Is the garage okay, since that is where I was planning on storing it?
