I was considering getting this a few days ago but reviews say the screen is garbage and hard to read and 12 hour battery life is abysmal

ive had 2 irivers and they are were garbage, ones motherboard died after having it for 1 year and 2 months, warranty expired couldnt exchange it.
the other ones buttons became hard to press and then it couldn't power on eventually.

if you want something disposable that might last you for a year go with this garbage.

I had an Iriver before...way back in the day.

Sound quality is much better than apple and sony. They are rated at the top for audio quality.
As far as build, I'm no really sure. one of my buttons stopped working, but that was mainly due to the fact i was quite hard on it.

In the review posted, it said the sound quality isnt that great? With sony's 4 sound stabilizers built into each mp3, I wonder if it'd be better to stay with that brand?

FYI:The mfg's website lists the specs as supporting xvid @ 30fps. Doesn't mention what resolution or bitrate it has to be but I wonder if this could handle non-transcoded divx.
