I'm trying to build a home theatre, and kind of wondering what I need. This is what I have so far:

1 400W stereo Bass amp, and 2 14" speakers in cabinets. (this would be my subwoofer)

4 12" speakers in cabinets (JBL Century brand)

2 14" speakers in cabinets (JBL)

Needless to say, it would be silly to go out and buy more speakers. I also have (very powerful/good) amps for all of them.

Basically, what I need is a surround sound receiver that takes, as input, a signal from my TV or DVD player -- and as output, delivers RCA output that can be fed into my amps and speakers.

Any recommendations? New or used (off of eBay or similar).

All the receiver would need is a set of 5.1/6.1/7.1 channel RCA preouts, which was standard on pretty much everything a few years ago, but I can't seem to find any current models with surround preouts that cost under $900.

Another option would be a simple decoder, like the old Creative DDTS-100.
