Wondering if anyone can help with this, we have a xbox 360 set up in my sons room, networked with a Wifi adapter. I've had no issues with this, untill I believe the latest Xbox live update (dont quote me on this, my I don't use the 360) my son tells me this :) Anyways I'm getting a DNS error when it try's to test the xbox live connection, it will connect to my network, then when it try's to connect to xbox live it pukes, and comes back with a dns error, it will do this for 10min then come back, and randomly start kicking out again. its connected WPA to my Dlink DIR-655 router. Anyone have ideas? Suggestions? I'd appericate it

Thanks Winky

try giving the 360 a static IP on your router. no idea how to do it on your router, I only have a netgear.

Try it "wired" , see if it does the same thing.
For a DNS error it shouldnt change a thing, but who knows.

I would try it wired.... but the router and xbox are about 40 feet apart and I dont have that long of a patch cable :(

It also seems certain router combos don't work with Xbox. For example if I hook up a wired connection to my linksys (sipura) spa2100 voip router, it will lose connection every few minutes. I'm assuming it's NAT implementation is probably lacking something.

Thats a weird problem, some things you can try if you have not already are,

- Unplug the Modem & Router for 2min and plug them back in.
- Unplug the wireless 360 adapter turn on the 360 then plug in the adapter again
- Pick up a long enough cat6 cable and try that
- Update your routers firmware

good luck.
