Hey I am thinking of getting a Smartphone from Telus. Either a Blackberry or the HTC touch diamond Pro.
I just wanted to know if the Blackberry Calendar can display a view listing all tasks for the month like this

No, it shows which days have appointments in the month view calendar with dots on the calendar. But you have to click into the day and view it in day/agenda view to see the text. There are also third-party applications but I'm not familiar with them.

Nope, or at least not with the default calendar program.

i've been told the blackberries do have a threaded text option. anyone know how to do this?

Are you talking about Tasks ? or Calendar Entries ? they are two different Apps
if you want you tasks created under tasks to show up in you calendar, you have to to Calendar -> option -> General Options -> Show tasks - YES
If your are talking about calendar entries then you have to click it on month view
The most closest to the screenshot would be week view. in week view when u scrrol though the week the item will be visible in the bottom. See below
