I must say it's a real interesting idea, I like how it's a new angle to look at sustainability. Food is grown locally so lower transportation costs, maximum utilization of a lot, elimination of erosion, and all-year/all-season food production.

What do you think?

Nice idea, and definitely thinking "outside the box". The problem I have with the article is they keep pointing out that the population is expected to grow to 9 billion by 2050, and making the reader believe that it is a Canadian problem. The real problem is growing the food where the population is increasing.
