I love the negativity in this thread.... A couple bad days worth of deals and suddenly all DoD's suck.

I purchased 2 of these(mine came with USB adapter as well) for an 8 months trip in Europe. These are by far the best and most useful gadget I had. I used them to charge my phone(e61 at that time), iPod, digital camera batteries or simply to use with my laptop. I've actually dropped them several times, they are still working great. If you can get the USB version(sameas the one on sale but with the extra adapter, get it.
I still use them today, they are a bit bulky, but they work as advertised!

It's pretty handy dandy. Bought one of these a couple of years ago for a trip to Ethiopia. It allowed me to plug everything in that I needed. My version at home was also able to charge via USB. I don't see it in this description. I bought myself another however as we are heading back to Ethiopia this Winter / Spring.

FYI: The version sold here is the Kensington 33117 model which is just the travel adapter that's on sale for $14.99 today.

The travel adapter that comes with the USB charger is listed under model number 33346 (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Power/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&cs=cadhs1&sku=A0655674). Dell also stocks this but, it's not on sale today.

I'm looking to pick this up, but I'm willing to wait until Boxing Day.

The only difference I see between the Mini "deal" and what is regularly available is the Belkin UMPC sleeve ($30 accessory on the Dell site) thrown in. I don't see where the supposed other $20 of savings claimed comes from...

IMO, the (expired) Mini 9 deal on Cyber Monday was better.

This is correct, I was simply referring to the USB version since it's that version I bought for 19.99 during the 2006 holiday days of dell. It doesn't Mather what connector you use ac/USB this unit is great! I would order more but the 2 I have are still going strong!

By no means is this a converter. You need a voltage up converter to get 220v to work in 110v, unless the adapter that comes with eletronic apparel does it(laptop ac, camera battery charger, etc).
As an example I brought back a coffe machine from Europe(220v), the little bugger is 1260watts, in order to get it to work I need a voltage converter that costs 80$, is as big as the coffee machine and weights 27lbs.

So no this will not convert voltage, but it will accept ac adaptors that already do it.

Don't think the DX deal is anywhere close to the Belkin. DX stuffs are cheap but so is the build quality. I rather spend a few more bucks.

Just to share my experience. I bought a $5 adapter for Europe and when I got there, the metal legs are somehow not fitting the outlet well and I had so much headache with it. If you can afford to travel, spend a few more $, you won't regret it.

That's fine if your device is rated for the different locations' electrical systems (e.g., most shavers, Apple computers etc. are fine). That is, if there is an internal conversion systems at the ready.

If not, you may do some damage.

does the Kensington one convert the voltage? i don't think it does. plus most notebook and cell phone adapters support 100-240V. neither will work with a NA coffee maker, though if it does it would brew mighty fast

well i pulled the trigger for the 19" display. I needed it for business use since recently my 15" lcd decided to konk out.

In terms of pricing, the 19" (with respect to similar specs) is still cheaper than most other 19" displays at CC and Infonec. The closest I've found is the Acer X193WB (maybe they both share the same TN panel?). Having already purchased a 24" and 27" dell through previous dell days of deals, i've been pretty happy with their monitors and I guess have become biased :P

... $60 is pretty much all an external 160gb drive is worth now... I just bought a western digital 640gb external from costco about a month ago for $112 (dont think that sale is on anymore, but just to give you an idea, it isn't too far off normal price). That's 4 times the size for less than double the price.

Check Costco, Canada Computer, TigerDirect or DirectCanada for larger externals for about $100. If you only want to spend $60, go for the one at dell.

ugh these dell deals SUCKKK!!!!

I looked at some reviews for this ClickFree drive. It seems the name ClickFree is deceiving, the hard drive does not do auto schedule backup but requires you to manually activate it. I passed after finding that out... not click free.

Went to buy the wireless router....looks like it's disappeared off the Dell Days page. As in, it's not list as being OOS, it's not listed on the page anymore at all.

anyone have any opinions on the Trendnet router ? thx.

I had a Trendnet G router, and it was really good.....at crashing my computer. Maybe they got the bugs out, but they don't have a very good rep.

I was looking for a cheap USB HDD to do backups to move offsite, so the ClickFree 160GB USB hard drive seems tempting. http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/System_Drives/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=A2339437
Does anyone have any opinion on this deal, or has a better one to propose?
Thanks

I have one of the clickfree drives (they are a client of my company's) and love it for it's simplicity. It is different from a typical external drive in that the software is on the device so you just plug it in and it automatically searches for and backs up all of your photos, music, office docs, etc. without having to install or configure any software. Maybe not ideal for hard core computer geeks, but it's great for people who don't back up because they find it too much of a hassle. Picked up a couple from Dell for gifts for my dad and brother.

I'm surprised that there still are people comparing a 2.5" HDD to 3.5" ones....

but your are absolutely right that these dell deals SUCKKK!!!!

The discount for the HDRSR12 is back again... not sure what happened to it, as it was missing for several hours but it's back to $899.99.

Did they just put that back in after I spoke to one of their CSR? haha. he told me it's sold out so regular price was back. I asked, why it's still in the deal section when it's sold out? . then i left the chat page.

Decent deals on the Dell S199WFP (cheaper than the Samsung 19" deal for $175 @ stooples a couple days ago). The Sony HDRSR12 (120GB + 5mpx digi cam + HD Camcorder) is a good deal for $899.99, this unit hasn't dropped much in price for quite some time because I've been following it for a while now, haha. And the 'clickfree' drive seems interesting... $59.99 for a 160GB 2.5" HDD isn't too bad -- I'd say it's a warm deal ;) :cheesygri

got the travel adapter. Going to Europe, and considering all the standards (UK, FR, rest of Europe), this thing would come handy.

I (for the second time) kept my money and skipped the Dell 2709 LCD...

Now looking at those deals makes me hate myself not buying it.

What a big pussy am I.

**Ohhhm loo at that shiny new 27'' LCD on my desk!!!**

:(

My hopes are for some descend deals in the coming days or i'm buying my stuff at FS or other e-tailer.
