Anybody know if this is a decent TV?
I've heard people constantly mention Sharp's problem with banding issues, is it applicable to the 65 inch models as well? What would happen if I did purchase this model with banding issues?

Also, stupid question. If I go to FS and buy this TV, is there anything missing that I need? (I have a stand + sound system with blueray player.) Do I need HDMI cables or something? (Sorry, don't know much about TV's.)

I have the 52" model and its a great TV, no banding issues at all but i guess that is up for debate. Some people seem to find it more often than others. You can always check with a free test disc from www.tvblink.com once you have the tv.
I cant comment on the 65" version though.

For cables, your best bet is to head over to www.monoprice.com. Best cables for the best price. Don't buy the cables sold from FS or BB. Takes a little while to ship (2 weeks approx) but the shipping price is very reasonable

HDMI cables are to view HD quality tv from a bluray player, Rogers HD box etc.

Thanks for the reply - still looking for more people's views!
Random question though - will I also need an HDMI cable for my PS3? So will I need 2 HDMI cables? One more my PS3 and one more my blueray player? And than buy another when I purchase the Rogers HD box?

will I also need an HDMI cable for my PS3? - YES, unless you want to use rgb + Fiber Optic Audio

I also have the 52 inch version of this TV and agree witht he other persons statement. I have no banding issues whatsoever. Great TV

And I have the 46" version of this TV with no banding issues either. Great TV, great picture. Check the AVS forum for calibration tips.

Wish I could afford to get the 65" version!!!

The PS3 is the best Blu-ray player around so I don't see why you would plug another Blu-ray player in your TV...

Well I already own both, so that's why I was asking. It was left over from my other TV.

Use the other player in another room or sell it. The PS3 will give you the best performance for Blu-ray discs and games. And you can use it as a media server.

Super fast question, where do I get an HDMI cable from for cheap if I don't want to purchase it online? I don't want to wait 3 weeks for shipping!!
