Are the 3 hour photography workshops at Henry's worth the money? 80 bucks seems like a lot of money for three hours shared with a group of people.

Specifically, I was looking to do the Canon Rebel XT/XTi/XSi/XS Users: Part 2.

Thanks.

For a complete Noob or a non-techy person trying to learn a DSLR, it may be worth it. I have never their courses, but I've sat in many "mini" courses at the Henry's Shows. I haven't learned anything new, but my friends whom I've brougth along have taken something away each time.

I guess it really depends on what you want to learn. Nothing beats good practice and experimentation, and there are tonnes of resources for free on the internet. I guess the read the course outline and see if it's worth $80 for you. Some people would drop that money numerous times to learn stuff, others wouldn't pay a cent to attend Henrys....depends on you I guess.

I have taken the Photography course at Mohawk College which was around 10 weeks (1@3 hour class per week).

I think it was around $130 and well worth it.

The person above summed it up though saying practice is what is needed. The course was very simple with an assignment every week. Basically it requirred READING your own manual and actually using the different features of your camera. IT WORKED.

It's easy to read the manual once and assume you know the stuff but actually doing it right without thinking is another story.

The course also included 2 nights in a Mac lab touching up photos.

Yes, alot of it was boring and simple but in the end I had a 100% grasp of manual operation of a DSLR.

If Henry's course is anything like that I would say go for it!
