I checked their website, but there was no mention of cameras. I remember being told to check my SLR into coat check at the AGO opening, and I don't want to waste my time by bringing my SLR to the Ontario Science Centre if they're not allowed.
Are SLRs allowed in the Ontario Science Centre?

If I remember right, they're allowed into the facility, but not the special exhibits like BodyWorks, Titanic, etc. Just call to confirm though, as they could change their rules at any time, especially with cameras getting better and better.

OSS would be in for another more complicated rule change if they disallow SLR as Panasonic G1 would be exempt. ;)
BTW, I've never heard of museums or places showing exhibits disallowing a particular type of camera. Some restriction on tripod or requirement to sign non-commercial use, yes. But cameras are either all allowed or none allowed. Having said this, it has been several years since I've been in one.

FIWIW, the Leafs only allow lenses up to 75mm, somewhat prohibiting only one type of camera.

I'll have to give them a call tomorrow - I don't plan on going into any of the special exhibits, so I suppose there shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for the input!

I've taken my DSLR camera there many many times with no problems. We had a family season's pass last year.

I'd think that the AGO would be the one to not allow cameras, the bright flashes from thousands of cameras a year would irreparable damage to expensive artwork.

I was at the OSC yesterday with my XS, grip, and two lenses and didn't have a problem at all. As a matter of fact, there were many ppl there with DSLRs and security and staff were fine with it.

Last spring when I was in New York the only place that didn't allow photography was the Guggenheim which sucked cause there were some neat exhibits there. But other places like MOMA, Museum of Natural Science, etc allowed cameras.
