I'm currently looking at adding my TV to my computer as a third monitor for watching movies, etc

Current setup:
-ASUS P5Q Pro
-ATI X1900XT
-2 x 20" Dell ultrasharp monitors

The TV I want to add is 1080p w/ DVI and VGA.

How do I go about adding a 3rd monitor? Do I need to buy the same video card or will any cheap card work? I don't care about crossfire, as I don't game much.

Thanks!

Well, if your not much into gaming, & that board has the 2 pci-e slots on it you could always just go out & buy like 2 radeon HD 4670 cards & have it that you have 4 heads to go dvi/hdmi from.

I found these at ncix there about $70 each & would do what ya want nicely as they have 1 dvi & also 1 hdmi port on each card:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34812&vpn=GV%2DR455D3%2D512I&manufacture=Gigabyte

it says not available but the stock checker shows 5-6 of them in stock

Wouldn't I just be better off buying another ATI X1900XT instead of 2 new video cards?

Can I use the HDMI, DVI and the D-Sub all at once?

the 1st is feasable yes. BUT the 2nd I am not shure about but would know ya could probly use the dvi & hdmi over the just relaunched hydrovision software probly.

the other advantage of the 2 other cards is less power draw from then then the 1900 + all the encoding advantages for HD & stuff in them.
