www.ratestogo.com is showing many weeknights in January at $111/night, and $137 for weekends. Rates are $USD.

They usually only have 2 rooms per day, but I'm seeing as many as 10 on some days now. Times must be tough for GWL!

Ratestogo is legit, myself and several others here have used it multiple times with no problems. You can search on it.

One night gives you two full days in the waterpark, you can go in before your room is ready, and stay after you check out.

My favourite tip is to ask at the front desk when you check in for any available upgrades. In the recent past, I was offered various rooms for $30-50 more. Last time, we paid $50 extra and go the Majestic Bear Suite, a huge room.

This is a GREAT deal, the best I've got in past is $139 on a weeknight.

try to book one. the site shows me the family suite, two queen beds, up to six persons, but when I try to check out, it becomes "Quad - 2 Double Beds, max 4 persons" , does anyone have experience with this before? by the way, is all the water park pass included? as I just notice this small line:

"Original Price is the retail rate for the 'room only' without any inclusions and is provided by the hotel."

There is always lots of couples there with no kids, usually younger people.

Check the occupancy or phone GWL to be sure of costs if over 4 in a room. Although the rooms will sleep 6, I believe you have to pay an extra ~$30 or $40 per person over 4 in the room. And you do have to as the indoor waterpark permission & your room key are the wristband you wear.

Fantastic deal.Thanks OP.

We stayed with 5 in the room (it does only come with 2 double beds) back at the end of October for this rate and the envelope they gave us at check-in had 5 wrist bands.

I was thinking of taking this deal with my fam and nephew and niece and I do believe over the 4 included people it is $30 extra per person.

booked one at the end of January. having same question as Squarepants. from others' response, it seems not a problem, did you notice the same words when booking it?

Great find OP. Thanks!

Just spent two nights in Niagara over the holiday, but considering for the end of the month.

FYI, in case it wasn't noticed, the fine print seems to indicate a $20 fee for cancellation.

Poster staying with 5 - did you pay extra for the fifth, or did you just book it at the posted rate, and say you had 5 guests? When I put in 2 adults/3kids on the ratestogo it doesn't seem to increase my rate?

That is exactly what I did - 2 adults / 3 kids was indicated when booking on ratestogo and then when I checked in they gave me an envelope with the 5 wrist bands (and a bunch of other freebies due to the wave pool being closed for maintenance).
You should consider calling the hotel to check if there is any scheduled maintenance scheduled for the days you plan on staying before you book.
Also, I will again recommend Frank's Pizzeria for anyone staying in the hotel who wants delicious pizza (just ask at the concierge desk for directions - it is only about 3 minutes away - way better than the hotel pizza or PizzaPizza.

Same here. Ours and another family shared a suite, and got enough wristbands, even though there were more than 8 in the room. As for food, the buffet is mediocre, and over priced. Go to a restaurant for dinner (there's lots along Victoria St close by), and take some stuff for breakfast (there's a fridge and microwave in the rooms). We got free breakfast tickets, and it's a lot of fried and sweet stuff...and the line for omelets is long

The rooms have 2 queens and a sofa. We said we had 5 people when we booked throught ratestogo. When we got there we expected to pay an extra amount (it was small I can't remember how much) and they never charged us. we had a great time. My kids are 8,6 and 4

From the site:

"Currently one body slide, Beaver Falls connected to Fort McKenzie is closed for maintenance.

From January 12, 2009 to the morning of January 16, 2009 the Lazy River, Bobcat Falls, Eagle Falls and Grizzly Falls tube slides will be closed for maintenance.

All rooms sleep six, as every room has at least two doubles and a pull out sofa.

My reservation also says quad with 2 doubles, but I have 5 in one room, no worries.

Good call on the Frank's pizeria, forgot to mention that one! We fed 5 adults and 3 kids last time for under $20 there.

Great info everyone, thanks.

Anyone been to the new Indoor Waterpark downtown near Casino Niagara? Comparisons? $159 including breakfast at the Skyline with passes to the Waterpark, on the same night as the $129 at Great Wolf.

Another happy visit to Frank's Pizzeria down the road as well. Fed eight people for $32! I think that would buy you a meal for one in the resort!

how is this compare to the Fallsview one ? We just stayed at Skyline Inn on the 30th Dec, it was OK, kids enjoyed the waterpark there and it came with some 4D movie tickets , bumper car tickets etc, 3 adults + 2 kids with 5 x waterpark passes for 1 night at $300 taxes in ....

So, on ratestogo, can you choose to pay in CAD? That amount would be put on your CC, and then you can pay the balance in CAD when you arrive?? Also, it says total excluding all taxes, so what you owe is the balance plus taxes at the hotel?? Thx

I've used the rates to go booking for GWL in Niagara as have some of my friends. They bill you $20 or so immediately online once you book - it comes from Australia which was mildly concerning the first time I used it. You must print the confirmation sheets they email you and bring them with you to the hotel. Never had any issues with this (used twice) - the hotel clerks seem to know about it, ask for your confirmation sheet and how you're paying the remainder of the $109. You get the family suite which is two beds and a pullout sofa , includes waterpark admissions for up to 6. A great deal and a great time at the park though you can easily spend another couple hundred there if you have kids who like to do the arcade/crafts eat etc.

I've done both - I would say GWL is a better experience over all for the younger kids - it doesn't have what I would call "Thrill Slides" like the Fallsview one does. I have 3 kids 4,6, 12 - my 12 year old liked the slides at Fallsview better but enjoyed GWL - my little ones did not enjoy Fallsview as much as its far more limited for their age and constantly ask me when we can go back to GWL. For $129 for a night at GWL you can't go wrong.

GWL has nicer scenery, but I enjoyed the fallsview water park on top of the parking lot better. My 4 year old has to ride with me and the water isn't as deep at the bottom of each of the slides at the fallsview water park.

The Vortex and Niagara Rapid 'Rocket' (roller coaster), at GWL, requires one to be 48" tall. My son is only ~44" tall. :( But on the flipside, the Mammoth at GWL, can ride four.

Therefore 3 slides we could ride together at GWL
& 4 slides we could ride together at fallsview water park.

I booked for the first two nights in Feb. It was $129 and I believe $144 for the Sunday ). Be cautious when you book, somehow I inputted my child's age incorrectly and ratestogo listed that any ammendments to a boking have a fee attached to it. Now I don't think the error will make a diifference as their website lists a per room booking fee not a per person booking fee.

Thanks for the OP.

I'm sure it's nice (never been, just passed by the huge hotel in a Niagara Tour) but it's in the middle of nowhere ... about a good few minute drive away from one end of the falls ...

I think the huge attraction is the waterpark within the hotel. Obviously the rooms as well.

Just a heads up, I would map it to see for yourself.

They'll have a ball. We're going tomorrow with 2 two year olds, and a one year old. They're limited in terms of slides, but they just enjoy splashing around with the fountains, shallow water, small slides, wave pool, etc. The five adults take turns going on the big slides.

Thanks again. Is it very crowded on the weekends ? Ideally I would have booked for a weekend ( I need to save all my vacation days for when my kids get sick), but was afraid it might be a lot busier.

I thought about trying to upgrade to one of the theme rooms, but I was a bit worried that the bunk beds would be a hazard for my little guys.

I was there two months ago. They had closed the wave pool for "maintenance" - some kid puked in it. They scooped up the bits, threw in more chemicals, waited 30 mins and reopened. The chlorine will kill the biologicals, but that just means I am swimming in sanitized vomit (and all sorts of other kiddie bio-accidents).

Does anyone know how ratestogo works, do they have rooms available for every day, or only some, I was trying to get prices, but the days I put in (within 21 days) most say unavailable. I wonder if they just have sporatic dates, or a few rooms for every day?

It used to be generally two rooms per day, but I was seeing 10 rooms a couple weeks ago for some nights. Maybe there is no logic to it, they just get what they get.

You're probably getting the RFD effect here, that may be why not much is available now.

I was looking for dates later out in Feb which are very high. Of course it could just be the impact of the family day holiday and everyone taking time off to go to GWL

However, prices have generally increased. Now the only days at $115 US are Wed whereas awhile ago, I believe, Tues, Wed and Thurs were $115. Similar increases seem to have taken place on other days.
