Im thinking of selling my books from 1st semester to the bookstore. Do they pay generously or should I just sell it to other students? thx

Sometimes. I remember selling my books for $20-$40 range.

Worst was when I tried to sell my >$100 microbiology text book.
They offered $7...

Yea, it varies

The good thing about the bookstore is that even if your book is highlighted like no tomorrow, they only scan the UPC for the price...so if you have some beaten up books, bookstore is the way to go

I think it depends how in-demand your book is. If its like an AST101 textbook thats in the current edition, you will definately get more than for example a CSC108 textbook that teaches Java (they teach Python in 108 now).

The worst is when they refuse to buy your book. Awkward.

The prices suck. You're better off trying to sell directly to people one year behind you in your program. That way you can often sell 3 or 4 book to the same person. Try putting up ads in your common room, if you have one.

I remember bringing a lot of used textbooks (heavy) back to sell.
They didn't want to buy them back.
Should've called beforehand :S

prepare to get shafted by their prices..

try selling to other students.. if all else fails then sell back to school...

Or just keep it instead.
