Where's a good place to buy 12 or 14 gauge wire, either online or locally in Toronto ? I am no audiophile, and I don't want to overspend for cable at FS or BB, but I want something decent. Probably only need 10 or 15 feet, but would buy a 50ft spool if the cost differential weren't too much (as I could run some in my basement).

you could try non-chain stores (Bay Bloor Radio, East Hamilton Radio, or others).

If you don't mind online, MonoPrice.com has everything you need, and it's pretty decent. Has all the connectors too.

Thanks for the advice TheHemming. I have been checking monoprice but the price of shipping a spool of wire is fairly expensive relative to the wire itself : $23 shipping for $15 of wire.

And the weird thing is Monoprice sells banana plugs but does not seem to sell spade connectors .... which I also need to source cheaply.

Just purchased a bunch from Home Depot and they even cut to specific size you need. 100 Ft was about $30.
