We currently use a mixture of approximately 25%vinegar and 75% water mixture in a spray bottle to clean glass.
What i'd like to know is this safe to use on lcd tv screen? Is it harmful to granite, to clean wood floors and laminate floors?
Is there an inexpensive home made recipe for granite cleaner/polisher
Thank you all

Use a not so damp cloth with water for LCD. No excess liquid as can damage if seaps through plastic ( found out hard way on thinkpad )
I do not use any liquid on my LCD's now, unless fingerprints, etc. But for dust and weekly cleaning i use a swiffer dust mop.

Try just water and newspaper. You'll be surprised how well it cleans glass.

How about using this solution to clean and polish granite. Does anybody know if it is harmful to granite? I have black granite that streaks quite a lot if cleaned with plain water.

We were told not to use vinegar on our granite countertops. Supposedly, it will damage it (?). Anyone knows for sure?

+1. LCD's and water don't mix.
I use vinegar/water mixture for cleaning countertops in my kitchen because
1) No toxic
2) Kills germs
3) Cleans well
4) Cheap
I don't have granite countertops in my apartment, but if I couldn't use water/vinegar to clean my kitchen. That would be trouble...

We have used vinegar and water to clean wood floors for years.
Not sure about the granite, I seem to remember the same thing about avoiding acidic liquids on granite.

It depends on exatly what type of granite you have. Some are far harder than others just as some are more pourous than others. This is why only some granites need to be sealed regularly. I happen to have Absolute Black granite countertops and can use vinegar on them as well as not requiring sealers. If your granite requires yearly sealer applications chances are that you shouldn't be using vinegar on it, google your particular granite type...

the granite i have is called star galaxy, it is black with gold flecks, quite popular. I have seen it in quite a few homes. Whether it is hard or soft or needs sealing, i have no idea.

Hi! My dad owns a granite countertop fabricating business and I know that he seals the countertops before he installs them and then after 5 years they need to be resealed and that's it forever! No more sealing!
I asked him and he said that the stone is finished with calcium and vinegar will eat the shine away! If you spill vinegar you MUST wipe it away ASAP! Toothpaste is bad for vanity tops as well! So I suppose a vinegar and water solution is no good for cleaning

I use water/vinegar for some cleaning and vinegar as a liquid fabric softener. For all the things you listed I use a damp microfibre cloth. They work on glass, sinks, granite, LCDs, mirrors, etc. I use my microfibre cloth more than vinegar.
