Hey Everyone,

I'm in 1st year Engineering in U of T and I'm not too crazy about Engineering. I'm closely considering switching to UTSC for Management. I have a 3.30 GPA after 1st semester with a 78 average. What are my chances of getting in as a transfer and what's the procedure I go through?

I don't think you can get into co-op unless you apply straight from high school. So I guess my answer would be non co-op...

i believe you can switch into bba coop when you have less than 5 credits, but cgpa cutoff is around 3.4-3.5. if you are able to raise your cgpa to that point by end of this semester, with less than 5 credits, and of course a good resume/application, you should be able to get into bba coop

Ok that's good to know, but what about switching to just the regular BBA program?

i dont think you'll be able to transfer into bba. they will probably put you in premanagement because required courses are intro to mac/micro economics, 2 management courses and 2 calculus courses. you'll probably have to spend a year doing those before they admit you because none of your transfer credits will satisfy those (except maybe calculus) you will not be allowed to take any second year courses.

just make sure you dont get placed in pre-management, cuz thats really a hit/miss from what i heard from my buddies. Its not even a guarantee...

you have to take the first year courses and do well in them such as intro micro and macro economics, intro management, calculus

Not true. You can switch to co-op even though you're not straight from highschool. A couple of my buddies switched programs and decided on the UTSC BBA with co-op after first year and got in no problem. In terms of the requirements, I think it has to be before 10 full credits that you apply and get in. Otherwise, you cannot switch. Feel free to correct me but that is what the guidance counsellor at UTSC told me a few years ago.
