It's been awhile since I've gone out for bubbletea, but Estea has a lot of fresh fruit drinks. Oasis and the little tea house are good too.

I don't know the name of it, but there's a place in chinatown (on the south side of the main drag) that sells really good bubble tea. THe have a big bubblr tea sign by the door, you can't miss it.

Oasis is great. I usually get the ice cream one tho, will be great this spring/summer.

However, I'm not too fond of Little Tea House, I've had many a powdered drinks there. Yuck. Why would someone pay so much for powder? I'll go home and drink kool-aid!

I also remember buying a Bubble Tea at that place inside Richmond Centre, nears Sears or the Bay or whatever it is. f***, it was the worst Bubble Tea I've had in my life, I almost ready to call the BBB. I don't even know what they did to it. It was super sweet in a not ripe kind of way and I've been happier with crappy powders. I'm definetly never giving this place a dime again.

Peanuts *used* to be the best...

But now their drinks are too watered down.

But those little desert things are still good!

There's a new place next to the bubble world on granville. Not sure what it's called. $2 and $3 drinks. Very tasty but the last time we went we saw the guy lick the spoon and use the same spoon to scoop the drink into the cup. EEEWWW. I guess if that guy wasn't working then this place is comparable to dragon ball.

Just tried out Green Leaf. Great service and talk about variety of choices! Don't forget to grab one of those "frequent buyer" cards. Buy 10 drinks and get one free. BTW the prices are pretty good too.

You guys are asking which places makes a better heavily over priced flavored tea that consists of mainly powder and syrup?

They're all equally as crappy. When I was younger I liked them until I realized how stupid it is to be paying more for a cup of flavored tea than a beer or glass of wine.

to each their own..

no one really said anything about price anyway.. someone just wanted to know where the best bbt was.. it's no different than paying $3-5 for a milkshake at a restaurant (well, you get my drift)..

You do live in middle earth don't you. :O The basic bubble tea consists of fruits mixed up with milk added and pearls and syrup.

Are you talking about L&G at 41st and Granville? I went there the other night and tried their mango. It was pretty good; almost at par with Dragonball. Is this the place you're talking about?!??!?

My Vote is for Oasis (Granvill and Arbutus)... they make the best Green Tea Ice Cream Bubble Tea!

Yum!

Just a note about Oasis: My gf and I went there in sept-oct 2005 and the owners have changed. It used to be our fav but we hadn't gone there in a while.

Anyways. This time we ordered our usual lychee and mango smoothie, and they had changed the mangos the use from fresh, to powder. And it was probably the worst tasting mango smoothie I've ever tasted. It didn't even taste like mango. More like really really faint taro.

Anyways, we went to complain and the girl who was working there took a taste of it and then declared that "this is mango." We're not going there anymore. There -is- a Pearl Fever open at UBC now though, so we just go there instead. Which, btw, is really good too - if you've been to their original Coquitlam store its about the same quality :)

I luv bbtea! Try out the following:
L & G at 41st and Granville...they have punch cards there...
Bubble Zone on Kingsway, near Boundary
Dragon Ball is an all time favourite too!

I would also recommend Crystal Mall's food court bubble tea/juice bar, I think it's called Paradise Juice or something. It makes a very tasty fruit shave ice too!

Estea has three locations I know of:
1. North Road in the plaza near Lougheed Mall.
2. on Kingsway in Burnaby (past Metrotown, heading towards New West, shouldn't miss it, it's on your left)
3. Richmond, near Alexandra Road if I'm not mistaken, I think it's near the Sheraton 4 Points hotel

My faves are:

Dragonball
Little Tea House

Both use fresh fruit, which I like. I refuse to drink 'fruit' ones at the rmd bbtea places cuz they for sure use powder.

I heard L&G is started by the ppl who used to work @ dragonball. And how someone there had ripped off Dragonball's recipe. So I guess that's why their stuff is so similar...

This place is new, and owner ship has been changed. Pearl milk tea is really good & Green tea slush.
