Hello,

I am hoping you can provide me with some help and guidance as I would like to sell a couple of PC Desktops, LCD monitors and two older laptops that were given to me recently. I could use some insight on what a fair price would be for the items listed below. I'm not very well versed in the world of PC specs, I'm more of a Mac guy....

An older laptop (from 2003) in pretty good condition.Screen looks good, no major blemishes or spots but there's one stuck pixel. Some light surface scuffing on top and bottom casing, keyboard is very clean, no wear on keys and trackpad. The power adpater cord has some fraying, it's been taped and works without any issues. No restore & recovery discs available. battery does not last more than a hour.

Acer Travelmate 4500 ZL1 Laptop
Processor: Intel Pentium M 1.60GHz
Screen Size: 15"
Memory: 512MB
Hard Drive: 80GB
Video Memory: 64 MB
Optical Drive: DVD (+/-) RW

The Good: In pretty good condition, screen is great condition, comes with restore, recovery discs & owners manual, 3 hour battery life.

I just bought a Compaq with almost the same specs on clearance. Mine has an Intel E2140 Dual core processor and only 1 gig of ram. The HD, OS, and Burner are exactly the same. It also comes with a similar warranty considering I bought it from a store and used a CC.

I paid $147+tax.

Since yours has an extra 1 gig of ram, I'd say $250-$300 if you were to sell it locally to the average naive non-techhead. If you were to try to sell it here, $150. $200 would be a fair price both for you and whoever bought it.

around $250 is what I would offer, may get more from someone who is desperate.

Restore Discs + 3hr batter = money makers
Latches are fairly easy to install (unscrew and pop off the plastic, and replace the plastic and sprint). I'd say around $350 or so for this one

cheers

thanks for the replies and insight. I also had a look online and came up with these figures using ebay, craigslist and such. I am having some trouble trying to find these exact model/specs from bigbox stores and other buy & sell sites but based on your feedback, I was thinking of pricing them as follows.

I post them for sale and see what transpires. Thanks for the help.

Compaq Presario SR5152NX - $250.00 + $125.00 for Samsung LCD
(was bundled when I got it)

ACER ASPIRE 350 - $300.00 + $75.00 w/ LG LCD
(was bundled when I got it)

Gateway 400VTX Laptop - $100 due to age, battery, ac adapter fraying and lack of restore discs

Acer Travelmate 4500 ZL1 - $250 or so, although I might look into replacing the latch, if I can find the parts.
