Gold seems to be going up and I know its a longshot but what if I found a goldmine
Prince George is near Quesnel and there was a huge goldrush in Quesnel back in the olden times but There's probably lots of gold in the hills still
if say I did find a goldmine would i have to share it? or what would happen?

I think the gold would belong to whoever owns the land or has mining rights to it...
As for the price of gold in the markets, I think we're going to see a reversal in the next few years after we hit bottom with this recession.
If you can see the bandwagon, then you've already missed it.

Gov'ts are pumping a ton of liquidity into the markets, gold is going through the roof. Paper money is going into your wheelbarrow.
Oh, and to the OP, the gold would belong to the person who owns the mineral rights (not necessarily the surface rights owner). At least, that's the way I understand it.

Finding gold is hard. If it was just sitting on the surface it would have been found a long time ago. Bringing in the machinery needed to survey the land and set up a mine would be costly and certainly draw attention from whoever owns the land(either the government or a private owner).

Good lord, I feel like throwing a shoe at the tv everytime this comes on. The girls dancing in the background is so tacky... I wonder who actually falls for this stuff.

Am I the only one who thought that this thread was going to be about Oliver Jewelery? (based on title)

You would get a free miner certificate. Then you would stake your claim. Then you would buy the mineral rights for 17c/acre. Then you would start mining.
I did 3 years of Mining Engineering at UBC before I changed my mind.
