Anyone already in this program?

it's alright. I'm opting out cause the thermo they gave me was not back lit. They will be here monday to tske it back.

I wouldn't do it again, unless i needed a new thermostat and didn't want to buy one.

I like the program because the termostat they provided can be controlled via the internet. A few times before leaving home, I forgot to lower the heat in the winter or turn off the AC in the summer. I logged in from work and adjusted the temp.

It's now a $75 rebate ($25 from Toronto Hydro and $50 from OPG). I just signed up so will now wait for the call from them to set a time to install whatever it is they have to install....sounds like a good idea in theory, so I am hopeful it actually works as intended and does not cause me any grief either!

Do you have a link to the $50 OPG?

It's right on the Toronto Hydro peaksaver page, actually. See here: http://www.torontohydro.com/electricsystem/residential/peaksaver.html

Good luck with that. I've been fighting for monthes to get the full rebate. You might get the $25 from Toronto Hydro, but trying to get the rest will take more time that its worth.
I've talked to the friendly people in Georgia, who are answering the calls for Peaksaver. They can't do anything because they just manage the program.
I've told Toronto Hydro to take the Peaksaver back if they can't give me the rebate as promised. just another example of wasted Tax Payers dollars

Just as an update to the community, Hydro installed their gizmo in March some time and I just received my Hydro bill today, with the full $75 credit on it already. Don't know if I'm just lucky, but maybe the rebate process is running a bit better now and subscribers can get their rebate quickly and painlessly?

If I don't see the full rebate on the next bill I'll just tell them to remove the peaksaver device.. The city of Toronto can't do anything right.

I removed the peaksaver device.. i don't like how the device sucks up electricity with the fancy flashing red/green lights inside.. defeats the purpose of saving electricity.. plus i never got the full rebate after 9 monthes of waiting.

Toronto Hydro is owned by the city.. that explains it

I recently called Toronto Hydro to remove the peaksaver device, but they've just sent me the gift card code. Am I still allow to redeem the gift card or will they slap a fee or penalty on my next bill?
