Last March, I went with Grand Canyon Tours Inc. for the "Grand Canyon South Rim by Bus" tour. It was my first time and I thought it was good - lots of time to walk around the grand canyon. We stayed at Luxor and had to walk to Planet Hollywood (not far) for the pickup.
It was $169.98 USD inclusive for 2 adults. There's a fuel surcharge of $10 per person.
Below is the link to the trip that I booked from viator.

Hope it helps.

Took the Maverick helicopter 3 1/2 hr tour last year for $450 each. Canyon was ok but found going up the strip more interesting.

I did the helicopter tour in 07 for about US$300. Can't remember who through though. Went past the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. The experience was worth it for me! You don't have to book until you get there either. You might find a cheaper company when you're there. Sales guys are scattered around the strip.

Sales guys are scattered around the strip.
Here's how they make their money. They sell you a trip for, say, $300. He calls the tour operator and makes you a res. You pay the sales guy a deposit, say, $100. That goes in his pocket. You pay the operator for the tour, the remaining $200.
So in otherwords, you can save the cost of the "deposit" by booking direct with the operator.
