To the people that have this card...how noisy is this supposed to be? I'm running a core i7 with a stock cooler and 1x 120mm fan and 1x 140mm fan and this card's fan is like twice as loud as everything in my case. I tried manually adjusting the fan speed in CCC but that doesn't do anything...lowest setting still sounds the same but it can get even louder on a higher setting.

It's not like it's overheating either...running at 33C idling so i have no idea what's with the excessive fan noise. Maybe the fan noise is normal, as I have never heard a vga card with a fan on it before lol.

I'm thinking about buying this card, but if it's like that, I might avoid it

On my XFX I can go into the Catalyst driver (8.12) "ATI Overdrive" screen and do a bunch of things with the fan speed. I assume other cards are the same.

The automated settings tend to keep it around 45-50C on my card, so maybe something is up with yours.

Ya I also have that option....but the 'lowest' fan speed doesn't do anything and still sounds pretty loud and blowing pretty hard.

IRC you can edit the driver files somehow to alter fan control behavior. I'm a bit hazy on the details though.

You can also try RivaTuner and as a last resort, editing the card's BIOS.

Ok so I installed that...and when I go to that Fan tab, all it says is "No supported hardware found."

I'm thinking I should attempt for a refund...

buy an aftermarket cooler that requires no fan like the thermalfight v2

I installed: Latest Beta Version: 1.6.9.1382 (21/02/2009)

Running Catalyst 9.2 too. Mine's the Powercolor 4830.
