This seems to be a sweet short term freebie.
If you are a Rogers LITE speed internet user, Rogers is offering a 'Speed Boost' to you.
What the Speed Boost does is resets your modem from 1Mbps to 8Mbps for 1 day FREE. You also get 5 'Speed Boost' tokens to use, meaning you can boost your internet for 5 days!
http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=INTER_LANDING&setLanguage=en
Look on the left hand side for 'Speed Boost' and type in your postal code and Rogers will reset your modem all online, no phone call needed.
I just did it, my download speeds went from 120 KB/s to 800 KB/s!
Get those downloads even quicker now!
The fine print says you get 5 Speed Boost tokens PER year, so I have reason to believe it's a forever freebie as long as your a LITE user!

lol, I think Rogers is trying to get you used to some fast speeds so you'll switch to their faster profile since Rogers has been losing customers to Bell recently, they need someway to cash in on higher paying customers.

is this a limited time offer or is it anytime for a rogers lite customer?

I know! I'm carefully monitoring my GB cap! Supposely LITE only has a 25GB cap, but my account says 60GB! I screenshotted it and ready for action if they give me any trouble!

More then likely, this speed boost has got me hooked! I love how fast this internet is!
I wonder if I can call to 'cancel' and get boosted up to this speed for the same price!

Cool thanks OP. This'll come in handy when I'm at the gf's house and need to download something. Normally I'd have to go sit on the couch and watch Gilmore Girls or something.

I monitor my usage, as well, and noticed the 60 GB cap. I hope it doesn't fup our bill.
Thanks OP.

Those who signed up for LITE back in the day (when it was 128k) have a 60GB cap.
Thanks for the heads up. I don't do a lot of downloading (serious) so I guess I'll save these up.

Is this true? How can I check? Because I've had rogers lite since like 05-06.

"Grandfathered Lite" was from way back and was slowly upgraded to the 1Mbit it is now.
To check, log into your rogers account to check your bandwidth usage.
