Did anyone manage to use the silverlight editor and add a colour, THEN add an image? Every time i add the image, it removes the bg colour

Edit: nevermind, you have to add layout, then add the image to the layout. it doesnt seem to handle transparent GIFs properly so ill have to edit the image and make it later i guess

if you notice a little white showing through on the edges just enlarge the picture with MS paint before uploading it. use the "strech and skew" tool.

You can just design your own. What I did is just to download a apple logo and add my name in Photoshop, then appy it on their web page: you can even adjust the position and the scale of your own pattern... just play for a while and you'll definitely figure it out.

Got mine on Thursday (ordered early April). It is completely black on all sides and the picture overlays one side - so those worried about any white, it didn't show any on mine.

I used a landscape photo from Hawaii and it looks pretty good - I think the more detailed picture the less you will be happy because there is only so much granularity they can effectively print on these cases.

I got mine today (medium) - and am very happy considering the price I paid.
The 1000HE is a tight fit - the back flap doesn't quite close (but the velcro fastener does).
I'm content with the fit - the large one is larger than the ASUS case that comes with the 1000HE, so I think it would be too big.

Before I begin, I know - its for netbooks, not laptops.

However, I just measured my macbook (al) and it measures in @ 13" x 9" x 3/4".

I would order and risk it for the length and width but I'm not sure about the depth. Can netbook owners please confirm that netbooks are actually less than a 1/4" thick?

Or, if anyone who ordered the large and has (or has access to a macbook, please see if these would fit.

I'm also interested to know the answer to this.

It's hard to tell from the pic's, I was wondering if the side was more of a flat panel or if it is all one piece that wraps around. also how does it close is it a zipper, velcro, what? I'm asking because I would like to see if I could take it to a tailer and have them attach a handle to the side so I want to see if there's room and if the netbook will be secure carried that way. Thanks for any info on that.

the case is more like a flat sleeve. there is an opening about 1/4 of the way from the end of the case that you slip the netbook into, then fold the flap over the remaining bit of netbook. it has a small velcro tab about 1"x1" to secure the opening shut.

the case is very stretchy neporene so can conform to most netbooks close to or larger than the specified size.

I rec'd my medium sleeve today. I had ordered mine on Apr2. Print quality is much better than I would have anticipated. Fits my 6 cell MSI Wind U100 with a slight opening where the back flap is. No need to buy the large sleeve for the MSI Wind unless you're using the 9 cell battery.

The only thing I didn't like is that the sleeve was folded in two in the mail, that caused a crease down the middle of my image. :( Since it's neoprene, the crease will probably disappear over time when the sleeve is stretched to conform to my Wind.

Just got mine today, and I am very happy with it! took 2 weeks to deliver tho looks like its from HK, but they sent it as gift.

Here are some pictures, was a bit dissapointed the cover is just velcro and not zipper, but hey $10 including tax u cant go wrong.

Laptop is Asus eee, the print quality is very good! much better than I expected.

Did you order small or medium? I have an asus 900ha which is basically the same size as the 701 and was wondering... The medium is fitting much larger 10" netbooks and it sounds like it's much too big for 900/700 asus series.

Not sure, but the site says 1500 x 1200 or Higher is recommended for a small, 1800 x 1300 or Higher for med, 2100 x 1700 or Higher for large

I ordered a small one at first for my portable DVD player, then realized it is too small & got a medium one. Both came the same day. The pictures are nice. As expected, the small one is useless. The medium one has a crease (surprise!). With a 'do not fold' shipping label attached, their shippers must be pretty dumb. Or malicious.

I have the 6 cell...and a 3cell aftermarket one

The aftermarket one works but the battery meter is messed up when it's installed(doesn't interact with XP or Vista to give discharge information -always stays the same). I wiped the drive to XP just to ensure it wasn't an OS issue.

My 2nd RMA battery had issues too...it's 2133 battery and 2140 are supposedly the same so maybe my 2nd one is defective too but seems ok as i still get about 2hours charge and then poof it shuts down non-gracefully.

There is no way the smell is permanent. I have many neoprene items and they all eventually become odourless, or to the odour in the environment I am accustomed.

maybe I have a poor sense of smell, but I noticed no pungent odour. However, I didn't use much ink on my case.

my guess is that they threw it into a shipment bag (almost) hot off the press and it's been in there for a very long time so the odours don't dissipate. but I could be wrong and we all die from inhaling toxic chemicals.

Just got mine today, and I am very happy with it! took 2 weeks to deliver tho looks like its from HK, but they sent it as gift.

Here are some pictures, was a bit dissapointed the cover is just velcro and not zipper, but hey $10 including tax u cant go wrong.

Laptop is Asus eee, the print quality is very good! much better than I expected.

Medium fits like a fat girl in a tight shirt... it somehow just manages to keep it all in with a few bulges.

This things got like 7 hours of useful battery life... you dont need the power brick...Hence why i went for medium...

Yes i compared the dimensions with the description on artscow.. however, some people say use medium, others say use small. Getting confused.

Also, the thing is scretchable, so dimensions on the net are not very accurate..

I got my "large" case (for up to 12" netbooks) which I purchased for my 12.1" Dell Latitude XT tablet. It's actually pretty loose around my laptop, so I'd be inclined to think that a 13.3" Macbook would fit, but I don't have one handy to test that theory.

For anyone thinking about taking advantage of their "free credit" to new accounts, don't bother.

They're a big rip-off. Decided to pick up some of their offerings and the S&H came up to $48. S&H cost them $17. I had a feeling $48 was a bit too steep given the few items that I had ordered.

I will be fair and say that their money/cigarette case is decent. But for anyone thinking of getting the coasters or mousepads - don't waste your money. Sorry, already deleted it... but all you have to do is google "louis vuitton wallpaper", select images, large size, then pick any one of them, save to your desktop. Then google pixlr, it should be the first link. Upload the pic to pixlr and use the program to resize to the proper resolution as advised by artscow, and tweak the contrast, colour saturation, etc. to your liking. Save the finished pic to your desktop and upload to artscow. :)
Since the well known LV design wasn't rejected, you could probably use any designer pattern.

I'm a bit concerned too. They over charged me, then said I used the wrong code. When I contacted them about it, they said I should have e-mailed them to make sure it was the correct code. The customer service person was quite rude, and it was a hassle considering they're in Hong Kong time, so I had to call at midnight to get through. I asked to speak to a manager and was told "Managers have better things to do, send an e-mail".
I did send an e-mail, and the manager was more polite over it, but all I got was store credit. I'm waiting to see what the case looks like before I do some more. Starting to get nervous now though...

You might risk altering the dye. I noticed my wife's sleeve is completely smooth now after about 3 weeks, probably helped that her 1000HE is snug in there, but even with the netbook out, it definitely no longer looks like the first pic:

For the medium case I ordered they say on the page that the image should be 13xx by xxx (can't remember exactly). But I think I remember having an option to auto fill the screen if you use the Microsoft Silverlight designer. There is a link for it on the page somewhere... it gives you much more options to design your case.

Just google "louis vuitton" or any other designer, select images, select large for the best resolution. Then use pixlr to edit it to the exact size needed by Artscow, centre it, adjust contrast, etc the way you want.

how thick is it measured though? my netbook's height is 2 inches, because it sticks out the bottom a lot.

i am not complain of the quality, bought one for my aspire one after view other peoples comment. when with my 3 cell, the case fits pretty well. have another 9cell battery (stick out version), i did not bother try to put in the netbook with the 9cell battery on, as doing that, i have to stretch the sleeve really hard to fit in the netbook, definitely will worn out the case quickly, things will even worse with the battery stick out.

I have ordered quite a few things from them and they are usually decent quality (they tend to not shift images properly and their images turn out darker than the originals) for the price. However, their service is terrible. I had 1 netbook case with white blotches (see here (http://img163.yfrog.com/i/img3019d.jpg/)) all over the case, looks like the ink ran out or something. After contacting them, they advised my picture didnt indicate any problem. They further said if I wanted a refund I had to ship it back to HK. Pfft, I don't think so. Not impressed given how much I spent with them, and the massive wait time to receive the item - took 1 month.

Don't expect top notch quality - you get what you pay for. My other case was decent except they cut off some of the design.

My wife has one of the LV ones, these protect your netbook from scratches but aren't very shock protective. I recently upgraded her to a padded Golla bag from that 50% off deal.

When designing these for yourself, remember to choose a high resolution pic so that the design is crisp and the details don't come out blurry. You can also use pixlr, a free online tool to match the netbook's size, tweak its contrast, etc before submitting the pic to Artscow.

Choose "large" images when googling.

I have ordered quite a lot from them over the last year or so and haven't had any issues at all. One t-shirt I had made I thought the image on the front wasn't aligned perfectly straight but my wife thinks the original image was tilted slightly too so who knows.

Which should I get? The Black/White one is classier and does have a bit of a halftone gradient that you can see in high-res. But the Brown one is unique. But the black one may blend in well with the rest of the case. argghhhh.

I have ordered quite a lot of things from them including two of these netbook cases and haven't had any issues. The way I look at cheap-o things like these is that I'm taking a chance on liking what I get. For the low cost I'm risking a few bucks to hopefully get something I wanted. Sorry to hear about your issue though. It always sucks to not get what you thought you were getting.

I ordered the large for my 11.6" Acer Timeline, and just received it today. WAY too big. It would probably fit a 13", maybe even a 14".

Well that sucks then, because it means the medium fits a 10" netbook rather snugly (meaning ther ei no way you'll get an 11.6" in there - and the large is too big for an 11.6.

So if you have an 11.6, order the ledium or the marge.

About the 11.6"
Someone stated in the Gateway EC1803h thread that a medium fit, but rather tightly. Its measurements are about the same (slightly larger) as the Acer timeline, so it should be pretty comparable. Also don't believe that last part about an extra .4", as people have said earlier that the Large sleeve was way too big for an 11.6" netbook



Avenger - Which Sleeve at artscow.com did you get and how does it fit? I see netbook sleeves are on sale there and guessing by what you paid for it you got the large one. If it's a good fit then that's a great price and I'll order it immediately.


The "large" one for 12" netbooks - I haven't received it yet, but I previously ordered the step down, which was the EXACT side of my netbook. Fit was a bit tight, so the fact this one has .4 extra will make it an ideal fit I am hoping. I was happy with my previous one.

EDIT: went to pmall to grab the sleeve, its actually 25$ before tax, i haggled them to take off the tax. also the door to the store is usually shut so just knock or something, i waited 20 mins for them and it says "brb in 5 mins" on the door which is actually like 30 mins

Large was a perfect fit for my 13.3 inch Asus UL30VT.

Printing quality wasnt as crisp as I would have liked, a few ink splotches.

Very strong smelling chemical odour. Hope that comes out eventually.

It fits a 13.3" MacBook (non-pro) but it's a bit of a stretch to get it in. So your x340 should fit perfectly. The quality of the print I got was very nice. Overall, I was incredibly pleased with the quality! :)
