Hi there,

Alright, this is for peoples who missed SonyStyle.ca sale (with the 10$ coupon) a while ago. For some reason, the PS3 Blu-Ray remote is at 14.97$ (in-store) only, though in the flyer says it's 24.97$ (and online)... I guess it's because TRU recently drop the PS3 Blu-Ray remote to 24.99$ and because of the sale 10$ OFF this week, it comes up like that.

The BR remote is a must have if you watch BR's on your PS3.

I think I bought mine for $20 - %10 @ BB a year ago.

This is a pretty good price for it

But what am I paying $15 or $25 for if all the functionality already exists in the controller?

One thing I could see is that the controller doesn't have to be on which will save on it's battery life. But is this the only benefit?

You get direct access to many functions, instead using the Triangle button, so definitely a convenience to use many less button presses.

Confirmed at TRU in Laval (close to Carrefour Laval). They had a small sticker on the shelf advertising the new $14 sale price. I believe it ends on the 11th (can't read French if my life depended on it).

There were around 8 units left when I was there.

AFAIK there is no infrared version of the remote, because there is no infrared receiver on the PS3 itself.

It's all Bluetooth, baby.

Confirmed at the Anjou TRU store. They didn't have any indication they were $14.97. Sticker said $24.97. Rang up at the extra discount price.

Good deal! We've been wanting one, but it wasn't a priority at $25. Getting one for $15 made it very much worth it since we use our PS3 for all of our movie watching.

Just took the last one from the Don Mills TRU.

$15 is a good price, but I'd stick with the Harmony.

The PS3 doesn't have an infra-red port, so the harmony remotes will not work with it unless you purchase an IR adapter for it.

i believe the offical ps3 remote use bluetooth technologies (which is build into ps3 itself) so NO infrared item to add to ps3 itself

No, it hasn't been released yet. There was only a teaser that was leaked to some of the gadget blogs.

I still can't believe Sony couldn't put a 10 cent IR diode into the PS3! Bluetooth is nice and all but leave it to Sony to try and start another proprietary trend. I can't wait until I get this remote stuck in the couch and yet have all the buttons being randomly pressed. :cheesygri

So I went to toyrus at Metrotown and picked one up for $14.97. The price tag was still showing $35 and there's still about 1 or 2 left on the shelf.

Sign said 24.97, but as a few other members said, the price should show 14.97, as of the price on TRU website. I got mine as a gift from FS when I bought my PS3, it's useful, just like other remote control you have at home, but no need to point it at PS3, it's bluetooth. You can use it within 10m, hahaha, skip or rewind or pause while you are getting some popcorn in the kitchen. Nice gadget to have with this price.

I tried pm at BB last night but the manager refuse to do it cause on ths site it said 'Limited Quantities'. So I just went across the street and pm it at FF with no problem.

true. my brother tried bestbuy on cambie and he got rejected because it was "limited quantity". Then he got a lecture that those deals are to pull in customers to buy other things when they really only have a very limited supply of the advertised item.

I had BB price match it and got remote for 13.47. It was at Heartland store in Mississauga. Originally went to future shop (Heartland) and as**** there and Id**t manager told me that since there are none in local Toysrus they will not match it. Told them that internet has a lot and apparently Futureshop does not match internet prices. Guy gave me a price match policy and I trowed it right ito his face and walked out.
Best buy checked internet price @ Toysrus and got additional $1.50 off. Original price at BB is $29.99.

Very nice. I'm actually not in a hurry to get this remote, so I made a toys r us store here in mississauga give me a rain check. They wanted me to go to another store (somewhere in toronto) since they have some in stock, but I refused and talked to a manager about it. Left the place after 10 minutes with a rain check in my pocket.. :D

I PM'd at Futureshop on Saturday but I didn't notice until I got home that they didn't give me 10% of the difference off but I don't really care. Its only a dollar fifty and it saved me from having to go across the city.
