View Full Version : Are you a psychopath?

Semi famous test.. but just for fun. (Don't ruin if you've heard it)

This is a story about a girl.

While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much the dream guy that she was searching for that she fell in love with him immediately.

However, she never asked for his name or number and afterward could not find anyone who knew who he was.

A few days later the girl killed her own sister. What was her motive/why?

Post what you think.. this is really just to see if you think with the same logic as a psychopath.. we can come up with some weird answers, but psychopaths fail to see whats wrong with what they think and lose the discernment between reality.

If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in this test and answered correctly.

NOTE: This is not a true test, according to Snopes. "As a quick 'n' easy way to separate the sheep from the murderous goats, it wouldn't work."

I'll post the answer sometime tonight or tomorrow.

edit: ANSWER IS BELOW.. MAKE SURE YOU'VE THOUGHT OF A MOTIVE!..

She wanted another chance with him assuming that he would go to her sister's funeral.

She was a paranoid schizophrenic and thought her sister was trying to steal her man. I remember the answer - it's a good brain twister.

her sister saw her talking with the guy. after he was alone, she approached him and told him that she was unstable and to stay away. she knew what would happen if her sister and him were to go out, so she made a deal that she would sleep with him if he made sure he didn't contact her any further. he agreed, but only on the following conditions. he could tie her up, smother her in ranch sauce, all while she wore a pirates cap. She agreed.

After a night of crazy ranch dressing sex, the guy left never to be seen again. The girl looked all over for him, but eventually came to the conclusion that he could not be found. So, she resigned to the kitchen to make her self a snack. Upon opening the door, she saw something that made her snap....no more ranch sauce. Only one person could have used it all up. Her damn b*tch of a sister! She told that greedy little wh0re not to touch her ranch sauce! And so...she paid the price. that'll teach her.....

She should have asked her sister if she know this guy. Killing off your sister does not mean this guy will come for her sister's funeral, because you still don't know how to find this guy's contact.

She should have called a ghost whisper to talk to her deceased mom.

I thought there is always a guessbook available.

So if you guessed the answer right, you're a psychopath? I'm assuming the answer is so that the guy would come to her sister's funeral so she'd have another chance. Haven't checked (hmm, is there even somewhere to check, I didn't see a link in the OP?)...are we waiting for the OP to give us the answer? Am I a psycopath OP?:?:

You may not be a psychopath, but your thought process is reflective of that of typical psychopaths' for this particular test.

Doesn't mean you're a psychopath but that was the typical psychopath response. So I guess you follow the same reasoning as many psychopaths in this situation.. of course if it were that simple alot of us would be psychopaths. Psychopaths don't see the problem with this reasoning, nor can they understand why we would think so.

Usually the responses are along the lines of 'she was scared her sister would go after her'.. or 'her sister was actually the guy's boyfriend'. Something like that.

He posted the answer in his second post:
I don't think you understand the point of this question. What he posted is the answer that psychopaths are likely to give. There is no definitive answer to this question; it's all about your own thought process. Maybe the killing has nothing to do with the mystery man. Maybe she got into a fight with her sister and pulled out a gun. Who knows? The point is, it's an open ended question with a million different possible answers. The purpose is to gauge your thought process, not to arrive at the psychopathic answer.

A brain teaser, on the other hand, has one correct answer.

Ok. Just to make it clear, I'm not arguing that it is a brain teaser, I should have made it clear in my second post. But for the purpose of the thread he provided an answer.

The point I'm trying to make is that a simple open ended question like this is not enough to make any type of inference about someone, let alone label them as having psychopathic tendencies. Especially in a thread where the word "psychopathic" already appears in the title.
