Easter Monday is not an official stat holiday in any province or territory, except in Quebec employers typically give both Good Friday and Easter Monday off.

Easter Monday is ONLY a Federal holiday and holiday for elementary and secondary school. That means either you're an elementary or secondary school student or teacher or work for the Federal government. Some employers have today off as a courtesy.
To make you feel a little better, I'm at work too! ;)
Yes those were the days I missed. Back to back 4 day weeks during school. Sigh those were the days.

Monday morning work has not grown on me yet. I'm having urges running out of the office to Pearson Airport and booking a ticket to some tropical paradise.

What you do isn't a real job. Get over it. Boohoo, I have to raise these children I forced my husband to have, because my biological clock is ticking.

Haha, someone sounds very bitter and if you paid attention 3weddings says she consults from home which allows her to be a stay at home mom, he didnt say she was a only a stay at home mom.

Itemfinder, I am not even going to dignify your comment by quoting it. Raising children is an incredibly important job and the courts have recognized the value of a woman's (a parent's) work in the home. Unfortunately, your mother failed at it.

It is a holiday for government workers mainly. And most unions have it in their collective agreement so people in unions are off. But banks are opened, so that proves it is not a Stat holiday. So no double pay, unless in the collective agreement.

Actually it is. Do you work for the Ontario government? I do and that is why I was home yesterday. I said it was a provincial government holiday in Ontario in response to the comment that it was a federal holiday and a holiday for elementary and secondary schools only. If you work for the Ontario government (ie the provincial government), you would have had the day off or overtime for working on a holiday. I did not say it was a holiday for all people who work in Ontario.
