Geez, seems like they have a lot of these in stock! I finally picked up the rolling cart, smart design.

This has come up a number of times, but sears.ca has the weber q 220 as it's daily deal for 30% off (reg price $299). I personally picked this up and love it.

I think there is a coupon floating around still that will lower the price even more.

Nope,... costco is Q100,.... otherwise I would have bought from Costco.

I bought mine for $158.18 tax in! :) Search in expired deal for detail on how.

I bought the rolling cart from HD after PM with Sears for $38 today. Haven't use it yet,...waiting for Canuck stanley cup win to use it!! ;)

How did you do that? The rolling cart is $59 at sears and $89 at HD, so at best that's $54 with a PM. I haven't seen the rolling cart go on sale since it was initially on sale.

Is Sears selling the 2007 or 2008 version of the Q220? The reason I ask is that the 2007 and prior versions only accept the long blue fuel tranks, but the 2008 models and on can use both the blue and green (cheaper) tanks.

2008 model manual http://www.weber.com/manuals/pdf_fil...20708_2008.pdf
2007 and older model manual http://www.weber.com/manuals/pdf_fil...12706_2008.pdf

Thanks to Art for the information.

I ordered one from Sears the first time it was on sale in May 2009, and have not opened the box yet, but on the outside of the box (lower right hand corner white sticker) it shows the manufacturing year as being 2007, so in my case anyways I believe Sears is selling the older model and is maybe the reason for the lower price. I am sure most people prefer the newer model that can use the cheaper green tanks.

I would be interested in knowing if the other members who recently purchased the Q220 from Sears obtained the 2007 or 2008 model.

Mines a 2008 model.

Mine can accept the green tanks which go for $4.24 at home depot, haven't tried the blue yet. Fired up on the weekend, works great! Grill surface is hard to scrub down after, any advice? Maybe put cooking spray on top first?

i have one and these things are amazing. i've used both the green and blue tanks and they work. i recommend the green cuz they are bigger!

as for cleaning the grill, i'd love advice on that too, i just scrub it with one of those abrasive brushes before and after cooking

To ease grill cleaning...

The first time, do this to clean off the gunk: Heat up the grill with the lid closed, then scrub well with the wire bbq brush.

From then on:
Heat the grill.
Pick up a wad of brown paper towel with a pair of tongs.
Dip it in a relatively high-temperature oil (peanut, canola, etc)
Rub it briskly over the hot grill.

The oil will carbonize (turn brown) and leave the grill with a semi-non-stick surface (just for this cook session).

Proceed with cooking. You can spray/oil the meat as well. But please be careful using cooking spray around an open flame!

When done, brush off with a wire brush. It shouldn't be too hard. It might also be a good idea to give it another swipe of oil to prevent rusting.

Doh...I just bought mine from HD this past weekend for $239.99...I wonder if I"ll be able to PM since the Sears item description doesn't specifically say Q220?

Also curious to know how hohohong got it for $38. I got HD to PM the price on the rolling cart as well and as SAN66 pointed out, it was only $54 after PM.

Stationary cart:
- Advantages
Hold 20lb tank
Sturdy
Comes with 20lb tank adapter hose
- Disadvantages
Does not collapse
Expensive

Rolling cart
- Advantages
Folds down with your Q for easy storage
Easily portable
Inexpensive
- Disadvantages
Does not hold a 20lb tank and the rack at the bottom is too flimsy to hold one
Does not come with an adapter hose (buy separately for 15 bucks)
Flimsy, shakes back and forth as you clean your Q

If I can get the rolling cart for $38 I'd definitely bite, even at the $54 I'd probably bite. Its either that or I'm grabbing one of my buddys old BBQs, gutting out the BBQ part and using it as a stand.

Damn...I was hoping that the wire rack would hold the tank.
Has anyone tried putting the 20lb tank on the stationary cart? The picture on HD's site seems to show that it is using a similar steel wire rack at the bottom too:

The tank in the stationary cart is help up in the air with some kind of hinge, behind the plastic panel. I'm hoping I can rig something up to do the same with the rolling cart if I go that route, but its not designed for holding it out of the box. The top should definitely be able to hold the tank if you rig something up, its just the bottom rack that's particularly weak.

Edit: never mind, I had a look at the cart on weber's website, its partially held up by the cart itself, but its base also rests on the bottom rack which seems to be more reinforced.

Gotcha...thanks for the info.

I was actually thinking of putting a wood plank along the bottom of the rolling cart to see if that might allow it to hold the tank. I picked up the tank and adapter yesterday and hope to have it setup later this week.

Everyone, a question --

I started looking on the Sears website and noticed the Q300/320. Weber doesn't provide a very good comparison chart on their website, but generally they look bigger than the 220 and come with the stationary cart.

I'm planning on buying the stationary cart (for the full propane tank) and will probably use it 97% of the time in a fixed position. I like the theoretical option of taking the BBQ with me to the beach, but knowing my general laziness.....

Anyway, Sears has the 300 for ~$460 ($425 with coupon). I technically got the 220 for $190 with coupon. If I add a stationary cart for ~$150 MSRP, that puts me at $340. Is it worth the extra $85 for the 300? Is the 300 portable? Is the 220 of sufficient size? I'm worried it'll feel a bit flimsy, but I've not tried one in person so any comments would be welcome. TIA.

Got the cart also, price matched with HD, $59.99-$6.00+Tax :D

Just got the rolling cart today. It was $79.99 at HD so I printed off the lower price rolling cart which Sears.ca has in stock for $59.99 and HD did a PM.

Anybody knows where to buy the cover (http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?D=947461&Ntt=947461&catalogId=10051&langId=-15&storeId=10051&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=113004%204294967232&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber) for Q220 plus the (stationary) cart?

HD online and store doesn't have it.

I got mine here:

http://www.racent.biz

hit the links for weber q accessories.

The one in your link is 20 bucks US for the full cover and 10 bucks for the small cover.

I had mine shipped to a receiver/redirection outfit by me and picked it up - back when the dollar was much better against the US currency.
