The reason why they don't do it is because the initial cost will probably come close to the cost of a regular notebook. Which brings me back to my earlier comment of why are people buying these underpowered old OS equipped computers (the battery times aren't that impressive either)?

Just look in the BST. Seems like to me the manufacturers have found a great way to market and get rid of obsolete equipment and make a pretty penny at the same time. Microsoft doesn't even officially support Windows XP any more, support ended April 14, 2009.

Because they are cheap, great for travelling, watching movies on planes (especially with kids), and are great for light computing. Ours lasts 6 hours on batteries. Can yours?

Why would you want a touchscreen netbook in the first place. I can understand if it was like an iPhone (folding flat), but when the screen is recessed, and not even accurate for drawing, what's the point?

i've installed a touchscreen on my eee twice.... and i broke it twice lol cracked the screen...lol doesn't hold up to the rigors of daily school... had two usb hubs, sd flash reader, bluetooth, 32 gb usb flash key as well as a power switch cutoff installed .
