Hi Everyone,

I am going to buy a PC through Dell with a coupon which expires tomorrow.

Just wondering if some comments could be made:

XPS 430

Intel® Core™2 Q9550 Quad-Core (12MB L2 cache,2.83GHz,1333FSB)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 4 DIMMs
Dell USB Consumer Multimedia Keyboard (already have a G15)
No Monitor
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
Windows Vista™ Premium (Will install Win 7 beta)
500GB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 16MB Cache (Will upgrade drive to TBs)
19 in 1 Media Card Reader
Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-Bit (As per above)
Dell Optical USB Mouse (MX Revolution which I am happy with)
16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability
Sound Cards Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio (Have SB Live! Which is more than enough...only have 2.1 sound anyway)
Wireless Integrated 10/1000 Ethernet

Constructive comments would be truly welcome, as it's been way too long since I've been in the PC hardware scene.

Thanks Everyone for your thoughts!

Hate to brag...but got 50% off coupon from Dell newsletter. So taxes in...cost me $1018.

I know...I "used" to build PC's but stopped about 5 years ago. I have been so out of the scene that I don't know what's fast anymore.

As for games...as long as I can play Starcraft II and Diablo III when they come out without issues; I'll be happy. Kids take too much time.

Also going to use it as media server for ps3 (ps3 media server app) and TVersity.

Thanks for comments everyone so far! :)

Sounds still too much for a 50% off coupon I'd be shooting for 1 with a core I7 cpu in it.

I have to agree you should go with an i7 build if you have a 50% off coupon. Also what kind of motherboard are you using? IMO a motherboard is the most important decision to a system.

With a "50% off" coupon, why wouldn't you get the most expensive build? Work that coupon!!!

At least get something with a better CPU and Vid Card :S

Definitely get something much better since you have that 50% off coupon, I would probably try to find an i7 build w/ a better video card.

Unfortunately...that was the best they had.

Not one workstation had an option for the i7 processor nor any better vid cards.

As for m/b? Not sure...all I know is that it's based on the x48 chipset.

Anyone know more about Dell's PC's?
