Sorry if anyone else posted this topic before...
I caught Bak Ong....great thai boxing action....very brutal.
You can compare this movie to Jackie Chan's earlier movies. The storyline is the typical kung fu movie, but the action is superb...i'd recommend this to anybody.
only pet peeve was the action shots had a tendency to "repeat again" on a different camera angle....kind of got annoyed afterwards

the movie is called Ong-Bak : Muay Thai Warrior
great movie, awesome martial arts. The repitition of camera angles is to show that he never used wires in the movie. It's kinda like that homo Van Damm with this triple takes of his kick except they show the same angle over and over again which makes it look less impressive.

I liked this movie but I was also annoyed by the repetition of some scenes from different angles. My fav fight was with the asian guy with the afro :D

change the thread title... the movie is called Ong Bak... not Bak Ong... it doesn't make sense if you say Bak Ong in Tha or Chinese..

I've heard people say the same about Cantonese and Mandarin (and Punjabi and German as well ;)).

This is definitely one of the best fighting movies of all time. The action is absolutely brutal. I don't know how some guys were able to "fake" taking those nasty hits. The guy's form is just superb, he's a terrific physical specimen (no homo). I have it on DVD but I'll watch it in theatres for sure to give everyone involved in the movie some support.

I'm assuming its dubbed so I hope it doesn't fall in the stereotype of the usual bad voice dub ruining the movie senario.

The girl's voice in that movie is incredibly annoying. Whoever is her b/f I feel very sorry for him, lol.
But yeah, the fight scenes are excellent, aside from the multiple stupid angle shots then keep on showing.

LOL, the subtitles were a riot! Added to the value of the movie for me. Nuts to the plot, it's all about the FOITIN'!

they're not making a sequel to "Ong Bak". they're making a new movie called "Tom Yum Goong". There will also be a game for the PC based on the movie (btw, Tony Jaa does motion capture work for the game).
