So I had Rogers match a bell plan that I was quoted.

Roger messed up and basically couldn't give me the quoted deal they promised. A lot of calls later I got someone to handle it. They actually ended up giving me a better deal then I originally asked for...at least on paper. I was sent a new quote via e-mail, and it was better then I originally asked. Quite a bit better, like a 25% discount.

When I got my bill neither the old pricing I was originally suppose to have or the new better pricing showed up.

So I've managed to get someone from the office of the CEO to look at my account. Apparently there are too many credits on my account, and she has to look into it but was talking about reinstating a pricing deal that is equivalent to what I first asked for.

Should I be asked for the better price I've been quoted since or just take what I was originally looking for.

If I take the original pricing, I would want to be reimbursed for the last 2 bills that I've paid extra on.

I think something extra should be given to me based on that I've had to spend 5-10 hours trying to fix this situation.

Any advice?

If both offers were better than what you have now, then I personally would be happy if they honored either one. But thats just me.

Just call retentions, like the other million people in the Hot Deals thread about Rogers. It works. That's the way to keep your credits.

Ya thats where I started. I got a plan, but then there were issues, they couldn't honor the plan, called again, and again and again. Finally got someone to give me the plan, but it ended up being better then the plan I was asking for, at least in writing.

Still do this day I don't have either plan, I've talked to about 25 reps, and no one could fix the solution, so now I'm talking to someone higher up, thats looking into the situation.

I'm happy with taking what I originally wanted as long as they credit me back the extra charges I've incurred over the last few months, but was curious to others opinions on this. Telling me to simply call retentions because it works isn't helpful when I've been trying to deal with them for 2 months now and they are useless in my situation.

There are probably some situations where people just can't get all the credits they want because they audit accounts. Sorry if that's unhelpful. If you made 25 calls, at some point you have to decide your time is worth more than the credits.

That said, I'm the kind of person who might call again a few times, different times of the day, perhaps, and see what happens. I mean, what's a few more calls now?

You don't understand though.

I was given quotes I was happy with multiple times, I even have them in e-mails from Rogers reps. But every bill since has been much more then I was ever quotes.

There are a lot of little issues that lie within in this. Like I got this deal for 2 phones, I was a Rogers customer for 10 years with one phone, another was a port over from Telus. We we're both going to move to Bell, because of a plan we could get there. Rogers said they'd match it for both of our phones, but still has yet to give anywhere near it on our bills.

I'd be happy as hell just to leave Rogers and go get the original plan Bell was going to give me, its still available to me. Unfortunately I'm stuck in this thing with Rogers so I'm trying to sort it out and at the very least get what I was going to get with Bell. I've talked to so many reps because none of them could get this done properly.

I didn't keep calling trying to get a better rate, I was trying to get the same rate Bell was going to give me, that 2 previous reps said I could do.

There is much more to it then this but really, why should I be paying an extra $20 or an extra $35 a months compared to the lower quote one rep even gave me just because their customer service is lousy and they can't get done what a few of them told me they could.

You're right, but there doesn't seem to be any way around it other than calling them again, or, again and again. Or...

You could try following Keith Macarthur on Twitter. He's high up, and willing to have their President's Office look into cases where warranted. Ask him, he'll reply, and help if he can.

It has finally occurred to me what is happening with both Bell and Roger's Internet pricing. The reason why they are now capping and increasing their fees is because the money being collected is helping to subsidize the cell phone side of the business. Since there are a lot of other players such as Telus, Virgin, etc, they have to be more competitive and hand over the credits. Try getting deals as good as this on the Internet side and it's a whole different story.

Don't get me wrong. You do get some deals when you initially sign up but afterwards not much else. On the phone side of business it's a whole different ballgame.

well your looking at the internet vs cell phones a little out of focus

as one family of 4-5 ppl can share one internet connection

but each member could potentially have his/her own cell phone so 5 phone accounts and 1 internet account

so i think they can offer lower prices because of the demand

Ya, I'm already talking to someone from the President's Office....as was mentioned in my first post CEO's Office I worded it there though.

Anyways thanks for the help anyways, I already talked to them abut what I'm expecting, I'll see how it goes.
