The whole idea of getting a "residency permit" isn't something i'm fond of getting since i don't plan to go there for anytime close to 1 year.
Anybody know of some agency that has a simplified driver license application process ? Anybody know of any interior provinces that will sell these ?
There were a few sites that did... but they're all gone. Probably govt crackdown or something.
I just need the license so that rental company will rent a car for me. Spare me the disclaimer as I've seen driving in China first hand and I have driven there before. Not much different from driving in Mexico or Central America. Just a tad more people and for some drivers (like myself) who trained to drive in america, I may call it "driving liberty". Although i've never driven the german autobahn, it's that kind of freedom. Not having to worry about rules.
I realize that if i get into an accident, i'm screwed. But i don't plan to as i know where my driving skill will allow me - and only plan to access the rural areas of china where public transport is limited.
Sole purpose is to be able to rent-a-car myself without relying on previous gf's car.
Thanks ! Forever grateful for the knowledge.
