so i want to use another HD with Esata..is there like an esata splitter? currently the bracket that i have only has 1 esata slot but i want to connect TWO esata enclosures...what do i need? thanx
i got the asus p5q pro mobo... im too lazy to install my new black cav HD inside the tower...PITA to fiddle around as i already got limited space due to a crappy case :mad:

It is not that simple, you need a motherboard that has two eSATA ports. You cannot split SATA ports.
The cable from DealExtreme has two connectors but it will only work if you have two eSATA ports on your motherboard. Most boards only have the one.
If you plug the cable into a regular SATA port and pull your drive out, there is no telling what may happen.

Assuming you have no eSATA ports on the back of your motherboard, you need two free SATA connectors on your motherboard and two eSATA cables, one for each port.
In order two hot-swap, RAID or AHCI must be enabled on the motherboard (and in the case of XP and possibly other O/S's, this must have been done at time of installing the O/S)

^thanx i'll try to find a pic of my mobo..im sure it has plenty of sata slots availible to use, not really sure
currently im using ONE esata with bracket but wat i want is a bracket with TWO esata slots...is that possible?
or its one slot per 1 bracket? confused

Yeah that will work. You just need to have 2 free SATA ports on your motherboard to use both eSATA on that. 1 eSATA connect to 1 SATA port. There is no exception. You cannot split a SATA into 2 SATA or 1 eSATA into 2 eSATA.

^ o dam thnx, i just noticed that its two into two, that bracket....
i can just use TWO x 1 brackets, don't wanna wait 2 weeks for dxtreme to ship
